Brett’s iTip: I just got a BRAND NEW iPad Pro 12.9 this past week along with the Magic Keyboard!!! Wow!!! But one thing right off the bat that I despised about the Magic Keyboard was the trackpad made a loud CLUNK / CLICK and I’ve always liked tap-to-click on my Mac. So I was thrilled to see that there is an option under Settings - Trackpad for the Magic Keyboard!!
Jeff’s iTip: My favorite tips for using an external keyboard with an iPad. Many of these are the same or similar to what you would do on a Mac or PC, which makes them easier to remember when you are using an iPad.
- Command-Space to search, a great way to launch an app.
- Command-Tab to switch through apps
- Press and hold down the Command key to see all of the keyboard shortcuts that you can use in the current app, organized into sections.
- Command-H always hides the current app and brings you to the Home Screen
- Command-F to find
- Command-Shift-3 to take a screenshot of everything displayed on your screen.
- Shift-Left or Shift-Right to highlight text one character at a time, in the direction you press the arrow key.
- Shift-Option-Left or Shift-Option-Right to do the same thing one word at a time instead of one character at a time
- Globe Key + A: Open/Close Dock
- Globe Key + Left / Globe Key + Right to switch apps
