Brett Burney from http://www.appsinlaw.com
Jeff Richardson from http://www.iphonejd.com
Welcome to In the News for September the 19th, 2025.
I am Brett Burney from appsinlaw.com.
And this is Jeff Richardson from iPhone JD with a whole lot of new Apple stuff.
It's a happy, happy day, Jeff.
Look at this.
You sent me a picture today.
Look at that proud face right there holding an Apple bag that contains, what is it?
So I got two things today.
Technically, I got four things.
We'll come to that in a second.
But I went to the Apple store this morning to pick up an iPhone and AirPods Pro.
And just to talk about that for a second, and I mentioned this in the vlog today, I, like
you, was like on my phone, ready to order the second that the pre-sales went on sale.
And I ordered-
It was last Friday, right?
Last Friday.
I ordered for delivery to my office because I thought that would be more convenient.
And as soon as I did it and I told you I had done it, your immediate response to me because
you were being a good friend was, did you check your delivery date? And I'm like, well, I just
assume it's next Friday. And I was like, oh no, no. It's like sometime next week. I'm like, no,
I don't want to wait another week. Mine was the 25th. Yeah. That's what mine was too. And I'm like,
I don't want to wait till the 25th. And so I'm like, well, let me do this. Let me just go to
the Apple store. Cause I often do that. And it's sort of fun to go to the Apple store. So I'm like,
let me place an order for a second one, because I know it's easy to return things to Apple.
So I placed an order for a second one and it said, it'll be ready at nine o'clock this morning. I'm
like, perfect. So that's what I ended up doing. And what you're
Apple store in the New Orleans area, Metairie, Louisiana. And so I showed up there this morning,
Brett. And so my appointment was at nine. I got there early because I figured I want to get,
you know, be one of the first people with that nine o'clock appointment. So I got there around
eight 15. And when I got there, there were probably 50 people in a line outside of the Apple
store. And I'm like, Oh, I'm going to be here for a long time. But then they said, do you have a
check-in appointment? I said, I do. I said, I have one at nine o'clock. He's like, Oh, well,
if you have one at nine o'clock, then you go right here. And he put me like number four in line.
I'm like, okay, I feel bad for all these people behind me. Are they like 930 people that are here
super early? Or maybe they're the people that didn't have appointments at all. And they just
showed up to get one. And so even though it was fourth in line, like one or two people came to
the store that had like 815, 830 appointments, they went first, but I was in that store, you know,
within 10 minutes. And so I was out, I don't know what time I sent you that text. I mean,
I was back in my office by nine o'clock by the time of my appointment, and it could not have
been easier. So I got the new phone and I got the new AirPods Pro and everything was good. And I'm
glad I did it because I was able to come back to my office and start to set things up. As you and
I were talking before we started recording, every once in a blue moon, you have a problem when you
go from an old device to a new device. Everything transferred from my old iPhone to my new iPhone
perfectly. But the very last part, what was it? It was the first part, but the last part I tried to
do, which was moving my phone number from my 16 Pro Max to my brand new 17 Pro Max would not work.
That's pretty important. I just kept getting an error message. And so ultimately it said contact
Apple. And I did. And I started by using, you know, there's that app on your iPhone called Apple
support that you can initiate a chat session within messages. It's super easy. I'm chatting
back and forth with this person, very nice person. And eventually she's like, you know, this is
getting more complicated. Can I just call you? I'm like, sure. Can I call? And so she called me
and she had me run through all sorts of troubles and as i'm talking to you now even though i've had
a very long chat session with apple um i still don't have it fixed yet i have a couple more things
so i mean i know it's going to get fixed i'm sure it's an at&t issue that has something to do with
moving the e-sim or something like that it will get fixed as i'm talking to you right now it is
not fixed but it will be fixed sometime soon but like literally 10 minutes before we were going to
start this recording this podcast which is many many hours after i was at the apple store this morning
I got two boxes.
So this is, I guess this one must be the original iPhone.
And then this one was the original AirPods, but I'll bring those back to the Apple store.
But what instead I have is my brand new iPhone.
You actually have two iPhones now, two brand new iPhone 17.
Two brand new AirPods Pro 3s too, exactly.
Okay, so to go back quickly, last Friday, the 12th, was when we could pre-order the phones and other devices like the AirPods 3.
Now, interestingly, I think it was last Wednesday or maybe – no, we even talked about this.
Yeah, it was earlier.
Yeah, I ordered the AirPods Pro 3 even earlier.
It was like a pre-pre-order.
So in other words, when they announced it, I got the thing in my Apple Store app, not the App Store, but the Apple Store app right on my phone that said, hey, you can basically it was like, give us your credit card number, set everything up, all your preferences so that on the 19th, when you can preorder the phone, everything will be ready for you.
And I'm like, okay, well, apparently you've done this before because I texted you and you had done this before.
And it actually did, Jeff.
So it was fantastic.
So the morning of the 19th, I still had to get on at 8 a.m. Eastern, which was what?
It's like 6 a.m. for you?
No, 7 a.m., right?
7 a.m.
Wasn't too bad, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
It wasn't too bad.
But it was 5 a.m. Pacific.
That's what they say, right?
You could 5 a.m. Pacific.
So you had to be on at that time last Friday to actually pinch the button to say, yes, I'm ready to pre-order on there.
So when I did that, that's what you were talking about.
I all of a sudden said, oh, wait, this says it's not going to be delivered not on the 19th, but on the 25th.
And I'm like, no way.
I don't want to do that.
And that's when I texted you.
And then I elected to say, I want to pick it up at the Apple store just like you did.
Now, right now I'm in Atlanta, so I'm not home in Cleveland.
So I didn't have it delivered on the 19th because I didn't have it delivered on the 25th.
And I couldn't pick it up at the Apple store today like you did.
I'm so jealous.
So I'm picking mine up tomorrow afternoon when I get back home.
But that was just so weird.
So you originally had placed the order to get it delivered to you on the 19th, but it wasn't going to be delivered to the 25th.
It was going to be delivered to the 25th.
And then what happened a few days ago is Apple updated all those orders because I heard many people on the internet say the same thing, that Apple said, hey, it's not going to come on the 25th.
It's actually going to come on the 19th after all.
But whatever at that point.
But I like how your solution was, no, I'm not going to wait and have it change.
I'm just going to order a second iPhone.
Yeah.
Which is what you did to pick it up.
And it's easy to do that because I know Apple has no hassle returns.
Plus, because I'm upgrading from one iPhone to the other one,
and I'm going to be turning in my old iPhone because I can get like 700 bucks for it,
I got to go back to the Apple store anyway to give them my old iPhone.
So since I'm going back anyway, I might as well bring back these other boxes and just have a refund.
So long before the credit card statement is due.
Yeah.
No, there's no reason to even open it up.
I'll just give it back to them and they can take it.
So at the end of the day, I'll go.
It's just hilarious how all that went.
Because now if I had waited and been patient, maybe I would have gotten it delivered on the 19th.
But it's like, no way.
I'm going to pick it up anyway.
Like you said, I still do enjoy going to the physical Apple store.
It's fun.
There's going to be a lot of other people there.
And it's just going to be neat.
And plus, for me at least, I do like to get a case with my iPhones.
And one of the things is like, I know tomorrow I want to feel the tech woven case.
I wasn't happy.
Did you?
I totally forgot about that.
Thank you for reminding me.
No, no, I completely forgot about that.
And I intended to do it too, but I was so caught up in the enthusiasm of the new iPhone and the new AirPods.
So when I bring my phone, when I bring my old model back, I got to touch the tech wovens and see what they feel like.
I don't know if I'm going to get a case though.
I didn't have a case at all last year.
At all?
Oh, wow.
I really was fine with it.
There was that one time I think I told you about, I was in the Atlanta airport and I dropped my phone and I'm like, ah, but much like the people in the Apple commercials, I picked it up and it was fine.
And I was like, ooh, thank goodness.
So, plus I have Apple here too.
So the phone you actually, well, you order twice, but the phone that you picked up today is the 17 Pro Max and that's the blue color, right?
You got the deep blue color is what it's called there.
Which is not quite black.
I mean, I don't, for people looking at the video, you know, the one on the left is the
new one.
Yeah, you can tell a little bit.
It's a little, it's a very dark blue side by side.
You can absolutely see it's blue, not black.
But when I just look at it, I mean, you can absolutely see it's blue.
So people are going to notice that I have a phone with the color.
My personal preference has always been just to have the black iPhone.
I don't want the color.
It wasn't an option.
I want the model.
I want everything about it to stay in the background.
What I want to see is the screen.
So that's why I've never been a fan of even from the very early days where you had the white screens and you can actually see the white on the front.
I'm like, gosh, that's just jarring to me.
I want everything to be black.
But there was no black option this year.
So I got the next best thing.
Believe me, there were a lot of people in the store that were getting their orange iPhone Pro.
And they were excited about the color orange.
And I'm like, you know what?
And that's what you got.
And I'm taking the exact opposite.
If you want a bold color, for so many years now, Apple has said, you want a bold color, you got to get the entry-level iPhone.
Right.
But if you wanted the Pro iPhone.
Yeah.
So this is the first year that they said, okay, you can actually have one bold color.
Orange.
And it's a nice – I mean, I saw it.
I saw it today.
It's a nice-looking phone.
I mean, it really is.
It's orange.
It's – what it reminds me of is –
I can't wait.
I can't wait.
I'm wearing your –
Look what I'm wearing right now.
I'm wearing orange.
But you're Apple Watch.
You're wearing your Apple Watch right now, right?
I am.
You know how on the side of your – you have that orange button on the side of your Apple Watch?
That's it.
Yeah, it's got an orange.
That's amazing.
If you like that orange, boy, are you going to be happy with your phone.
I saw somebody mention today that this is the pumpkin spice latte iPhone version.
That's funny.
That's funny.
It's my PSL iPhone on there, which, by the way, just quickly so that everybody knows, I'm picking that up tomorrow.
I'm going – and I'm not getting the Macs.
I'm just getting the iPhone 17 Pro, which I've been very happy with and looking at the case.
However, last Friday, we also did pre-order the other devices.
You did the AirPods Pro 3.
So did I.
That's already been delivered to my house.
My son was happy to text me a picture of it just to make me feel bad, I guess.
And as we discussed last Friday, I also pre-ordered the Apple Watch Ultra 3.
I am so excited about this.
You got all three of the things coming to your watch.
I have been waiting.
Well, I still had the Ultra 1, which I have to say, I read a couple of articles that I agreed with that people said, my Ultra 1 is still going just fine.
Why would I want to upgrade?
And I was tempted because I'm like, my Ultra 1 really is still doing great.
But I knew there were just the little incremental things that we talked about last week that I wanted to be able to upgrade that.
So that arrived at my house today as well.
My son sent me another picture.
So I'm going to have a fun day tomorrow when I get.
I know.
It's like, okay, I don't need to know that.
Right.
anyway that's gonna be fun okay i want to come back and talk about your iphone pro max but let's
just another picture you sent me today at the apple store let's go to the iphone air let's start with
that because a lot of people have been talking about that okay this was an amazing picture that
you sent because now people have been holding the iphone air it's not even the 17 air it's just the
iPhone Air, but this is a comparison picture you sent me of, I guess, is that the iPhone 17 or
that's the Pro? No, that looks like that's, that is the Pro. Okay. The one on the bottom is the 17
Pro. I think it's the Pro Max. I can't tell if it's the Pro or the Pro Max, but you can see those
tethers on it. Like I was, I was at, you can, you can unrecognize the table. Everybody recognizes
this table. This is a table at an Apple store that's got the models. And I just picked up two
of them and put them next to each other just to sort of see the difference. I think actually
is a Pro Max there, but you can see the Pro Max thickness, you know, incredible, you know,
but again, it's fine. I don't mind this thickness. It's very, I don't either thing I had last year,
but when you hold, and this is, this is what it really gets to is the air. One of the reviews
that I linked to today was, I think it was a chance Miller. Yeah. Chance Miller. Yep. Chance Miller.
And his title says it all. It's the thinnest iPhone ever, but at what cost? And I've seen
And the very second paragraph of his review says it's an example of compromise.
The iPhone Air is the epitome of the word compromise.
And believe me, as an attorney who often tries to settle lawsuits, I'm in favor of compromise.
Because maybe your client is on defense side, pays a little bit more than they wanted.
Maybe the plaintiff attorney gets a little bit less than they wanted.
But at the end of the day, you come to a meeting of the minds and you get finality and you get comfort.
And so this is when I, the Air is like that.
It is the compromise.
On the one hand, you are not getting all the whiz bang features for the biggest change,
of course, is cameras.
There's only that single camera on the back of it.
So you get one X and then they have a way to make it a two X, but you don't get any of
the big cameras or even the 0.5 X, the wide screen.
You just don't get that.
And for many people, they're like, I don't care.
I'm just taking a picture.
If I need to move closer, I will walk closer.
And if I want to go further back, I will walk further back.
And if that's you, then maybe you don't care about that.
And I will tell you when I held that iPhone air in my hand.
Yes.
It's pretty extraordinary, Brett.
It really is.
You know what it reminds me of, you know, way back when, when iPods were the thing and we
had those iPad nanos and when you held an iPod nano and I, I never actually owned a nano.
I always used a different model because I wanted to have more space and stuff, but I, I know
exactly what those things felt like.
And you're like, wow, this thing is just astonishing thing.
Like, how could it be this thin and actually work?
And this gave me those feelings when I'm holding this thing in my hand.
I'm like, oh, my goodness, this is thin.
And as somebody who always keeps my iPad, my iPhone right in my shirt pocket, I pretty
much always wear button down shirts that have pockets on them.
And when I do wear them, I stick my iPhone in there.
I always have.
I've been doing that ever since I used a palm back in the 1990s.
So having, you know, because the iPhone Air that I had in the store had that tether on it, I couldn't actually literally put it in my pocket and walk away with it.
Security would have had something to say about that.
But I could just tell holding it, I'm like, this is going to be nice.
Like if you put an iPhone in your pocket, you are, I mean, it is just, it's going to weigh so little.
It's going to be so thin.
It's really, really nice.
So that's why it's the question of compromise.
Do you want to get that incredible form factor?
Which don't get me wrong.
If I could have a Pro Max with that form factor, sure.
Sign me up.
be great. But for me, I just didn't want the other compromises, the other features that you don't
get. And there's, I mean, to be fair, the iPhone Air is a good phone. I mean, it's in some ways
better than the iPhone 17, which is a little bit cheaper. But I just prefer having more features
as opposed to the feature of thinness. So for me, the Pro Max was for me. I just want things a little
bit faster, a little bit more, a little bit more battery life and everything else. But I will tell
you that iPhone air was beautiful. And I, another thing that I mentioned from the initial reviews,
and I think Chance mentioned this in his review too, is Apple says the iPhone air has all day
battery life. And what he said is that it pretty much got me all day, but like near the end of the
day, I was starting to run out of power because it's obviously not much battery life in there.
Right. And so that's why you really, we talked about this last week in the podcast, you would
probably want to think about spending an extra a hundred bucks for that Apple mag safe battery
so that on the days that you want more battery power,
you slap that battery on it.
And of course you lose the advantage of the thinness
because then it's gonna be a little bit thicker,
but you get that extra power.
So like I could see a lot of air people
having the air maybe in their shirt pocket
and having that battery in their briefcase
or their purse or their pocket,
you know, their pants pocket or something like that.
So that when you need to get to it, you have it.
You have it, right.
But then again, you know, as someone in my office every day,
I either have the iPhone in my pocket
I have it sitting right here, my MagSafe charger.
So it gets a charge.
I mean, if you're in a situation where the battery life is, it's not that it's horrible
battery life.
It's just not quite as good.
So that's the trade-off.
And again, the cameras to me would be a trade-off that I would not want to get.
But that form factor.
And so what's going to be fascinating to me is, in fact, it would have been interesting
anecdotally just to look around me and see how many people this morning were getting 17s
versus Airs versus Pros or Pro Max.
I don't really know.
You know, my guess is that in these first couple of weeks, the people that are really, you know,
the early adopters are probably going to be more feature oriented and maybe getting more pros.
But I suspect that over time, because Apple is going to continue to sell this over the year.
And in fact, who knows, the Air might be one of those models that they leave around for two years
without changing it. I think that over time, when someone's just like, I'm a regular person,
I don't need anything fancy with my phone. I just want something that works well, that's not going
to be old and I want something new, they're going to pick up that Air and say, you know,
feature-wise, it's all the same to them.
Yeah.
But having that really thin size, I'm going to see a lot of people saying, wow, that's
really nice.
So we'll see.
I mean, we'll see.
I like how Chance Miller puts the iPhone Air here compared to the iPhone 6 Plus.
Which is the iPhone Air.
That's the thinnest iPhone before today.
Before, which the iPhone 6 Plus was 7.1 millimeters.
The iPhone Air is 5.64 millimeters.
Look at that, yeah.
And just seeing that.
And then I like how he has, you mentioned the iPod Nano.
Look at this.
He even has the comparison here.
I got to look at this and see.
Oh, it was that model.
This is the seventh generation iPod Nano.
That one was 5.4 millimeters.
And the iPhone Air is 5.64 millimeters.
So just barely a little.
Just barely a little bit more, yeah.
And then I like this little table that he had here too.
He compared the iPhone Air, which weighs 165 grams, and the next heaviest phone is the iPhone 16e at 167 grams.
And then for comparison, yours is 233 grams, the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
So, I mean, you could tell that, I'm sure, just picking that up, right?
You could tell immediately, which I think is what is the star-studded component of the iPhone Air.
The most important question I wanted to ask you, though, did you try bending the iPhone Air when you picked it up?
I sort of did a tiny bit.
I didn't give it a really hard push.
You know that some idiots on YouTube are going to be pushing it beyond the realm of anything.
But I will tell you, it felt like a sturdy – to give you a real answer, it felt perfectly fine, perfectly sturdy.
It certainly didn't feel like, oh, my goodness, this is so thin.
It's like a piece of paper or anything like that.
It definitely had a strong thing to it.
I mean, anything will break if you put enough pressure on it.
I'm sure I could break my Pro Max if I put enough pressure on it.
But I don't think that in the real world that's going to be an issue.
But as much as I make fun of the YouTube people, they're just looking for the views.
It's a legitimate point because it's a reasonable concern for Joe on the street to have.
Wow, this thing's so thin.
Is it going to bend?
Like, what if I put it in my back pocket?
That's what my daughter loves to do.
She puts her phone in her back pocket and you sit on it.
You don't want it to be fragile.
So it's a legitimate concern.
Right.
Right. At the end of Chance's review here, he has, I think this is a video from Apple where it shows this weird mechanism that they have.
It's like robotic mechanism of how they're pushing and they're literally bending the phone there.
And then it lets up here at the little end.
I mean, it's just maybe a few seconds long, but just an interesting little video there.
It's just kind of funny on how that looks.
But thanks for showing in the wild there, the iPhone Air compared to the Pro Max.
That's just pretty amazing to me.
Okay, before we get to the Pro, though, let's just quickly talk.
You had a couple of links this morning to the iPhone 17 regular, vanilla, the entry level, as it were.
I mean, I feel like some people may consider the Air to be the entry level, maybe comparing it to like the SE or the E or so.
But I don't think so.
I mean, the Air is very much more expensive.
And really the entry-level iPhone today now is the iPhone 17 nothing.
Well, keep in mind, they also have last spring, spring of 2025, Apple released the 16e.
And so the E, which sort of replaces, they used to have the SE in previous years.
So if you truly want the least, and they are still selling that, and who knows whether they'll come out with a 17e next year.
But the 16E, if you wanted to get – is it on – yeah, there it is, the 16E.
Yeah, there it is right there on the website.
If you click on that, what is the starting price of the 16E, Brett, if you click on it on the Apple website?
Jump in right there.
Starts at $599.
Whereas the 17 starts at – is it $699?
I forget the –
Let me go back.
The regular 17 starts $799.
$799.
You were right.
So it's $200 cheaper.
So the truly cheapest iPhone is the 16E.
But if you want the least expensive of the fall 2025 models, well, that is the 17.
And I will tell you this, the one review you were showing, and I read a number of reviews because I was curious.
Yes, you did.
And these were people that Apple gave the units like a week to, right?
And so a lot of people, yeah, I linked to two and there were even more that I read.
It was really consistent.
Every year, Apple has that entry-level iPhone of the new generation.
This year, it's the 17. A year ago, it was the 16. A year ago, it was the 15. And so every year,
and of course, this year, 17 is better than last year. 16 is better than last year, you know,
the year, of course, from a year to year. But at this point in time, in the fall,
there's always a question of what is the gap between the entry level and the pro. And this year,
this year, the entry level is looking pretty good, is what these reviews are saying.
They are saying that this is a year that a lot of features that started on the Pro have now made the mores down to the regular entry level 17.
And sure, you get more stuff on the Pro.
Sure, you get thinness on the Air.
But the iPhone 17 is a perfectly good – it's more than a perfectly good phone.
It's a really good phone.
And so people that just want a reasonably priced iPhone but maybe not getting the E from last year but at least want the current generation, I think they are going to love the 17.
And, you know, I was talking to my wife and she was my wife is still using an old phone that's got the button on.
I forget what model is, but it's still got a button.
So that's all it is.
OK, he likes that touch ID and she realized she's going to have to move on at some point.
But she was right.
She's like, you know what?
I really like that green color, you know?
And so that that's and that's great.
You want to have something that looks good.
The iPhone 17 comes in a bunch of good cooking colors.
In fact, you can see some of them on the table behind me.
And the magic chromatic.
Yeah, good colors.
It is a really nice phone.
it's got it's a powerful phone there's the green one right there there's the green that is pretty
anyone who gets a 17 and even if you consider yourself a more of a pro user the 17 is darn good
it's not as big as the pro max it doesn't have the the super zoom camera that we're going to talk
about in a second on the pro max but i tell you what it's a pretty good phone it really is
i really did enjoy these two reviews that you linked to as well in fact billy still here at
and Gadget just started off by saying, for years, the regular iPhone received the hand-me-downs from the Pro models.
But he even just talked about the thing.
First of all, you get the center stage front camera.
Oh, yeah.
That's a cool feature.
To me, that's something that would only have been in the Pro models, but it's already in the regular models.
And then, to me, the always-on display, which I've had for a while on the Pro models,
but now that is available on the regular iPhone 17.
Just some really cool stuff.
And then you had another review here from, is this Gizmodo, Raymond Wong, who I haven't read too much before, but I thought he had a very good, yeah, some exhaustive review.
In fact, he's even got the green version right there.
You know, just one of the things that I noticed, we didn't talk about this on the iPhone Air, but Apple has called the formerly known as camera bump on these phones as the plateau.
And I noticed, you know, the Air has the plateau.
And, of course, the iPhone Pro has the plateau.
But the iPhone regular 17, it still to me is like a camera bump.
I mean, they're not calling it a plateau.
They didn't, like, make a big bulge across the phone like they did for the Air and the Pro.
But, you know, so I don't, like I said, that's more aesthetic than anything else.
Yeah, it's interesting.
Some people may appreciate that.
I agree.
I agree.
You might like that better.
Sure.
Yeah.
Good stuff on that.
Okay, so that's the regular.
In fact, here's a good comparison of what I was just talking about with the Pro Max there with a huge plateau.
And then there's just the little bump that comes up on there.
You also linked to, I thought, as you said, it was kind of a little bit of a silly video here from Apple.
If you can't decide, or they call it the can't decide guide.
And it is cute.
I didn't watch the entire thing, but I saw that they went through different places, almost like this Apple genius, you know, walking somebody through how to how to get the right phone for themselves.
And I thought it was kind of nice, but I'm glad you linked to it.
If you, you know, I'll make sure that the links in the show notes in case you do want to go and watch a little bit of it there.
But that what I like about that video is that this is Apple saying, here's what we think are the reasons why you might.
That's right.
One point versus the other.
Now, there are other reasons that the independent reviewers will give you, and that's fine too.
But since Apple designed the phones, you would think that they would have an interesting sense of what the difference is.
So from that standpoint, it's worth it.
If you honestly can't decide, you should definitely watch this video because it'll help your decision making.
Now, I would like to hear what you think so far of your iPhone Pro 17 Max.
Putting aside the fact that you can't make phone calls on it yet.
Not yet. I got to get that fixed.
But you're getting worked on that.
But what are initial impressions?
Because I know you've already like restored from your iCloud backup.
You've got all that information on there.
And so you've been able to hold it.
You've been able to fondle it.
Like what are your initial impressions so far?
Yeah. And in fact, I'll just say if anyone else is making the upgrade,
you actually have two choices.
You can do the backup from iCloud, but I didn't do that.
The other choice is to directly transfer from one phone to the other.
And the difference is if you do an iCloud backup,
you're up and running in like 15 minutes
and then it just slowly downloads things over time.
If you do the direct transfer, you need to wait.
And for me, I waited about two hours,
but that's fine because I'm sitting here at my office
on a Friday getting work done.
And my old phone and my new phone
just sat there talking to each other,
having their merry-on-way.
And then when it was done, then it was good
because then my new phone was pretty much done.
I had a few other things I needed to do
because we use a mobile device management system
on my phone and I had to go through that.
But like with those minor changes,
My new phone was up and running.
So I actually sort of like that doing it if you're doing it.
But anyway, so once I've been up and running, obviously it's nice.
I mean, the big changes for this year's Pro versus last year's Pro.
First of all, one thing that I haven't been able to experience yet, but I'm looking forward
to is heat dissipation.
Last year's Pro.
Vapor chamber.
It gets hot.
If you're doing something intensive on it, or if I'm in a situation where the cell phone
coverage is not great, you can feel the heat on that thing. Now, I don't wear, I don't use a case.
So if I was using a case, maybe the case would hide some of that. But of course, the flip side
of it is, since I don't have a case, you would think it's got as much air is getting on it as
possible. And yet it's still getting hot. So Apple's done a lot this year. One of the, it's a faster
iPhone because it has a faster processor, but because of that vapor chamber and because it's
got this new unibody design that it's one big piece of aluminum that sort of spreads the heat
throughout so that it can, I guess evaporate is not the right word. It can go into the air or
whatever it is. Dissipate. We'll use that. Thank you. Apple is saying that this one can stay cooler.
And of course, if it can stay cooler, then it can do more, right? It can go at that faster speeds
and it can be more responsive and everything else. And so since I've just been sitting here in the
office today, I haven't had a chance to experience it. In fact, the real answer, Brett, is I hope that
I don't quote unquote experience it and that I hope I don't notice it because I do notice when
the phone gets too hot. I hope that like a month from now, I'm talking to you and I'm like, Hey,
Brett, it doesn't, didn't even occur to me that phone hasn't gotten hot. So we'll, we'll see that
that's fingers crossed for that. So that's one nice thing. Um, another thing is the cameras.
I use my iPhone for my camera all the time, which is why I like having all the different cameras
last year, the highest camera was the five X camera, but it was a five X camera at 12 megapixels.
Whereas as we talked about last week, this new device, it has a 4X at 48 megapixels.
So even though it's 4X versus 5X, it's much more, you know, many more dots per inch.
And then it can sort of crop that so that you end up getting that 12 megapixel 8X.
And I'm looking forward to it because I will tell you, I loved having 5X this past year.
But there were so many times that I was trying to zoom in.
Maybe I'm sitting here in my office and I'm looking out my window and I just want to get
a close-up picture of something, you know, a ship going down the Mississippi River or whatever it is.
And I'm like, I wish I could go a little bit more than 5X without like a digital, you know,
where you go in, but the quality is not very good. And, or maybe I'm watching my daughter play
basketball and I want to sort of zoom in on something. I wish I could get a little bit more.
So I'm so excited to try out the 8X. And in fact, I sent you some pictures. I don't know if you have
access to them. So this is just me looking out of my office window. So I'm looking towards the
Mississippi River in New Orleans. You can see the curve of the Mississippi, which is why they call
it the Crescent City, because it's like a crescent in downtown New Orleans. And you can see in the
distance going across the Mississippi River is the bridge. We call it the Mississippi River Bridge.
And so this picture was taken with my brand new phone, the 17 Pro Max. This is in the 0.5x. So
this is that wide angle view that gets you sort of everything at the risk of being a little bit
of a fisheye, but that's the biggest. So that's as big as it would go. So let's zoom all
the way into 4x and so this is pretty close to what i would have gotten last year with the 5x
okay and so i have zoomed in on the mississippi river bridge and then this one is the 8x and so
the quantity of it's really good here you go no this is the 8x yeah switched over and so with the
8x that's even really i can see cars i mean with my naked eye yeah in the world i could actually
see a car crossing the bridge um but here i mean i have no trouble seeing it and they're actually i
I mean, I could even almost read,
I'm exaggerating when I say I could read license plates.
I couldn't do that,
but I can definitely see the color
and the model and everything else.
And so this is a good example of 8X makes a difference.
You know, it really does.
And then of course you can do a digital crop
to get even more.
And so if you just to go between those two,
between the super wide out and the super in,
you know, you have between 0.5X and 8X,
that's a 16X, you know, difference between the two of them.
You have a lot of flexibility.
And it's the main reason I think of Zoom
is just to get in closer.
But you know, Brett,
I mean, neither one of us are professional photographers,
but a good photographer will tell you
that composition is so important.
You know, like what angle are you at?
Do you have something in the forefront and the background?
What part of the image do you choose to focus on?
And so you just have a lot more options.
And again, because it's, you know,
the days of using film are gone, it's all free digital.
You can do a bunch.
Like if I'm at some cool location,
I might take one or two pictures at 0.x, 0.5, one or two at 1x, one at 2x, one at 4x,
and then I just have all those pictures.
And then later on my computer, I can be like, or on my iPad, I'm like, you know what?
The one that I really like of this set is, you know, maybe I like the 8x the best, or
maybe I like the 2x the best, but I just have so many options.
So I'm really excited about it.
Just zooming in to these pictures, I always felt like, I mean, at some point, the 5x was
was great and i've very much enjoyed it although i've got the 15 so i don't maybe why i wasn't even
on 5x but i could tell as i zoomed in that it would start getting grainy and and i i'm just
amazed here on this 8x that you sent me i mean does it start getting grainy of course it does
if you really start zooming in all the way but that is how much you're going there that's really
impressive i know that is still sharp with how far away you are and using an 8x zoom on that
That's incredible.
And consider that I took this picture just quickly.
I'm sure I was moving my hand.
It's going through my window.
So I'm sure there's like, you know, stuff on the outside of the window.
So, I mean, this is not me in the middle of some pristine pasture taking pictures of beautiful
mountains.
So there's a lot going against this picture.
And yet it's a pretty good zoo.
Well, you linked to one other article today, which I love seeing this almost every year.
Oh, yes.
Photographer Austin Mann.
Somehow has got in good with Apple.
So they sent him, I think, I mean, they have to have sent these, you know, models to him early on.
You know, I don't know, weeks ago, months ago, whatever.
And he, you link to this almost every year.
He goes to some remote location and uses this new iPhone and the camera.
And of course, unlike you and me, he is a professional photographer.
And he just, the pictures that he comes up with are amazing.
Let's see, this year he was in the Dolomites, right?
The Dolomites in Italy.
That's Italy?
Yes.
And I just was able to scroll through these pictures pretty quickly,
but you really have to pause and just look at this.
As much as we were enjoying your Mississippi Bridge picture there,
some of these videos here are just incredible.
And I feel like some of these he did almost the same thing.
Yeah, this one.
So he did a wide version, and then he's got a square showing
where he zoomed in for the next picture.
And just looking at some of that, of course, again, he knows exactly what he's doing here.
And they're completely different pictures.
Like, even though it's the same thing, this one shows a completely different story.
This picture tells a very different story, ignore the red square, than the one that's closer in, where it's just a, it's, they're literally different stories.
And this is what photographers know how to do is they tell a story through their pictures.
You know, we all aspire to that, but.
Of course.
He says that's a 4x lens here, right?
At 48 megapixels.
And like I said, I just zoomed through these really quickly, but I'm sure he's got an 8X on here.
But I mean, just even being able to see.
Well, here it is.
Here's a good one right here.
So he's got this view, this picture here, and he zooms in.
And I mean, that's just beautiful.
That is just absolutely gorgeous.
I mean, this is the pictures, what it looked like in the hands of an actual professional, which is amazing.
We can all aspire to do this.
But it's fun knowing that the same equipment that he is using, like I have that too.
And if I take a hundred pictures, maybe one of them will be as good as every single one of his pictures.
So it's nice knowing that you have that option, that possibility.
Any other quick comments from your first few hours of holding the 17 Pro Max?
I think that's it. I mean, I'm excited to have it. I like it. It feels good in the hand. It looks interesting.
It does have a distinctive sort of look to the back of it and stuff and with that plateau.
I'm really excited about it. So this is going to be fun to use. Well, next Friday, both of us
will have been using the iPhone 17 Pro for a week. And we'll probably have a lot more to say
on that. Because now let's move from hardware to the software. Because something that both you and
I have been using now for five days is iOS 26, which was available, I think, on Monday. Am I
correct? It was Monday of this past Monday of the week. I think I may have waited until Tuesday
morning at least to do my iPhone, but on Monday I did my iPad. I've got everything upgraded now,
even my Mac, my iPad, my iPhone, my Apple Watch, everything got upgraded on this.
And I'm pretty happy, I think. I feel like I hesitate just a little bit in saying that because
there's always little tiny, I call them annoyances, but that's just a personal thing,
right? Because what might be annoying to me is not annoying to you. It's just probably
because this is the way I've been using my iPhone for over a year, you know,
with the new operating system, or frankly,
it's maybe the same from 16, 17, 18,
but now we've had a big change and it's not just the changes in some of the
like features. It's the entire look of it with the liquid glass.
You had several links in your post today,
but why don't you just give me one,
what are your impressions have been since we've been using iOS 26 now for four
days?
Well, I 100% agree. This is a more substantial change this year. So for people who don't like
change, they may not be very happy. It's not good. It's not good. If you like things and there's two
levels of change. There's the obvious interface change because liquid glass just looks different.
And I will tell you after hearing all summer about the people that were running the betas
and some people liked it, but a lot of people complained about it. I understand the complaints
because when I use liquid glass, whether it's on my iPhone or my iPad, every once in a while,
there will be something that it's like, oh, it's a little hard to see because what's underneath is
coming through. It's like, okay, where is, I'll give you an example. Literally 20 minutes ago,
before we started filming today and talking to each other, I sent you those pictures from my iPad
of the Mississippi River Bridge that I had taken, right? And so when I went to share it, I had it on
my screen. And it was nice that it was like the entire screen of my iPad was showing the beautiful
picture and the interface element. Like, you know how, when you share a picture, it's that, that
square with an arrow coming out of it that you tap to share. I didn't see it for like a fraction of
a second because that share icon was black on a clear background at the top of the screen. And so
unlike in the old days, it was, you know, very easy to see because it, you know, it was, it was more
obvious. And so the flip side is, so I can see why someone's like, oh, well, it's a little harder to
find things. On the other hand, I will tell you, I actually have to admit, I think liquid glass is
delightful. You know, it has been fun. It's something new. Sometimes you need to have new
things, even if it's just new fins in a car, it gives it that sort of fresh look. And it's not
even little things like the transitions from one screen to another. It's like these little,
the way that things sort of move and blobs move. I'm like, God, that was really, gosh,
That was really pretty how they did that.
Smooth.
It's smooth.
And, you know, I'll give you something that's not even liquid glass related.
We've had a feature on the iPad for I don't even know how many years that if you hold down four or five fingers on the screen, you can go like this and you can swipe left and right to go from app to app, right?
It's sort of the iPad version of a control tab or a command tab on a computer.
They do it differently this year so that it's just smoother.
And I noticed that the first time I updated my iPad and I was just swiping apps and I'm like, oh, that was nice.
It was like that was really – as I'm doing it in front of you, it's just a smoother motion.
And it's those sorts of things that it's the interface, but it's not the liquid nature of the interface.
It's just like the little nice things, the details.
So I'm in favor.
There's some subtle things.
It's subtle, but it makes a difference.
Just like the app icons and some of those.
It's just very subtle, but you can kind of tell.
And we look at this every day, all day long.
And I like the fact that it's not so jarring.
Maybe in some cases it could be different, the change like you were talking about.
But I do appreciate some of the subtleness of the design flex and elements on some of the icons and things that you're doing.
Others I'm having to get – you mentioned that share icon.
That's a whole different sort of an experience now in some of the things.
and you know I feel like it's not going to be hard to get used to it I'm already after you know a day
or two I'm like okay well that's where it is now and I just have to remember that and you just kind
of rejigger your brain on that but and I and overall just like you I I'm I'm I'm happy with
it I still have a little bit of agitation because I feel like there's going to be some things that
we're going to see but this is uh par for the course because I think within maybe two or three
four weeks or so, I'm sure there's going to be another like, you know, point update maybe
from Apple.
Sometimes they take a little bit longer and they're going to refine some of these things
that could be annoying.
You know, things like this, like you would think we've gone through so many, you know,
developer betas, public betas, like surely there would be everything.
But no, inevitably, there's going to be something that we have to still iron out even when it
gets into the public.
And so we'll see that.
So I'm not so worried about it.
It's just, oh, yeah, that's a little bit different.
And most of the time I've been pleased with it.
Yeah.
So that's the design parts.
But then there's also just the feature improvements and something that would exist without liquid
glass.
And I feel like every hour that I use my iPhone or my iPad, I find something else that I sort
of like.
And I'm like, this is nice.
This is nice.
And, you know, some of the bigger ones, like a more marquee feature is the new messages
app, the new phone app, you know, the ways that like when you get these spam messages
tries to protect you, there's a thing you can turn on your phone.
And I decided to turn it on that like if somebody calls you and the iPhone has no idea who it is, it will basically have a built in receptionist where it will answer the phone with a voice and say, you know, basically, who are you and what is this all about?
And it says it nicer than that.
And it will actually then send you that.
And so then you can see it and, you know, just you can see it like the words are written on your screen.
And I haven't gotten one of those calls the last couple of days.
I haven't tried it out, but I do look forward to like, go ahead and screen it because nothing
works that I'm trying to get worked on, or I'm doing something at home with my kids.
And, and like some, some, it's like, should I pick up the phone?
Cause what if it's important?
And then it turns out it's not important.
It's a spam or it's so, you know, have you updated your car insurance?
I'm like, come on, give me a break.
And so I'm, I'm, I'm in favor of it.
Just about everyone that I want to be calling me is in my address book.
And even if they're not, um, I think this is going to be good.
So I'm looking forward to that.
Okay.
So can I ask real quick, because I totally, and I turn that on, totally agree with the
screen calling on there.
But one of the things that I know people talked about a little bit, there is now a unified
view in the phone app.
Yeah.
And I'm trying, Jeff, like I've turned it on.
I've got, I'm trying, but it's really hard for me to make the change.
I can see where everything is, but basically there's the classic view, which is what we're
And you have your favorites and recents and the voicemail, like in little buttons at the bottom.
And you can stay on that if you want to.
But the unified view kind of jumbles it all together.
And I think I can get used to it.
But what is your take on that?
It's one-stop shopping, which in theory I like.
But when I turned it on, much like you, my initial reaction was this is a little too new for me.
And so what I did is I turned it off and I decided, you know what?
Let me get used to some of these many, the multitude of new features.
Baby steps.
Let me get used to the other features.
Give me a couple of weeks.
I'm going to try it again.
But I just want to be more comfortable with everything else.
So the jury is out.
I haven't decided yet if it's going to be for me or not.
But my initial reaction was too much too soon.
I'm not ready yet.
I had the same reaction to the Photos app as well.
I feel like I just got to spend a little bit of time with it.
I knew there was going to be some changes in how they kind of mixed that up.
I am happy with the camera app, though.
I know that that was something that because for me, switching back and forth to photo and video was, you know, it just took too many seconds to do that.
And so I am pretty happy with some of that.
This is a great article here you link to from Julie Clover with Mac Rumors going through like 100 different differences or upgrades or features on this.
This is another one from Ben Lovejoy at 9to5Mac.
Here are the things that he most loves about iOS 26.
And I thought this was a good roundup of some features here too.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, there's just tons of little features.
And this is one of those things that like,
hold on to these things that I'm linking to.
Because after you upgrade,
you're going to want to come back to this in a week or two.
Because some of these you'll discover right on your own.
But then other ones, you're going to have to go back.
And that's nice.
It means that it's sort of the gift that keeps on giving.
It means that we're going to have a lot of new features
to be exploring for a long time.
And it's going to be really nice.
I will say one thing.
And what about, yeah, go ahead, go ahead.
Oh, you were just going to, yeah,
I haven't played around with ringtones yet.
That was something you were just showing you.
Yeah, because I didn't know there was new ringtones
coming in iOS 26.
Yeah.
And I haven't been in a quiet place.
I'm going to do this after we record
because I want to hear them all.
And I haven't been at a place where I could do that.
But it's just little things like that,
that, you know, not so much Easter eggs.
I think Apple has done a good job of listing it,
But, you know, there's so much to list.
Sometimes it's just a little bit overwhelming.
So you have to experience some of these on your own.
I've been really impressed with, and this is an iPad, not an iPhone, although I guess it's on the iPhone too.
But, you know, I remember years ago when Apple first brought the Files app to the iPad.
We were like, oh, this is nice.
Now we can work with Files, much like we've done on a computer for so long.
And then, you know, some years they would improve it.
Some years it would stay the same.
This year, they have really, really improved it.
Because now you can do things like you can move columns to make them bigger or smaller.
You can sort of change what you're looking at.
Everything can get a little bit more granular.
And then part and parcel with the files app, we now have the preview app on the iPad.
In fact, I presume you can use an iPhone too.
I haven't even checked.
But on the iPad, it's like, it's sort of like, it's a nice way to sort of get a preview of
a PDF before I actually work with it.
I just have more options for seeing what it is.
It's really nice.
You can now set the default apps that open for something.
And so like if you have a file, let's say you're looking at the files app and let's
say you're looking at like, I don't know, a wave file or a PDF file or, you know, whatever
other type of file you can sort of hold down on it and get that pop up menu and say, I want
you to open this type of file with, and then you just pick whatever your favorite one is.
And then going forward, that's what we'll do with that type of file.
I mean, these are the sorts of things that we've had on the computer for a long time,
But I really feel like the iPad is growing up a lot.
You know, this is a big year.
This is like moving into puberty for the iPad when it comes to the business uses.
They are there.
Things are changing.
And, you know, some of it's a little different, you know, like puberty.
But it's for the better overall.
And it's I can get more work done.
And I'm starting to see that all over the place.
And so I'm excited.
So, you know, all of these new iOS features, I'm discovering new ones every day.
There's so much here.
it's it's really exciting yeah we didn't plan to talk too much about the ipad and the changes
there we we could come back to that we're definitely going to talk about that in the
next couple of weeks because i gotta be just like what you're saying there's a there is quite a bit
different there that i'm that i'm trying to get used to and you know how to how to maneuver and
reset resize some of the windows and stuff like that but we can we can definitely start uh start
getting to that as well you mentioned keep track of some of these links that you're linking to
because they're going to be good to come back to.
And that's exactly what I did when we moved to the Watch now and WatchOS 26.
This story, the Mac Stories review from Jonathan Reed, oh my goodness.
I have saved this because tomorrow I think I'm going to spend two hours reading this novel that he has written on here.
But it just goes through everything.
Things that I know that I need to get familiar with.
This was one of the best reviews as I just skimmed so far.
Tomorrow when I actually have my new Apple Watch and I have a watchOS 26, this is really, really great.
And there's a lot that is different here as well.
Again, so far with watchOS 26, I've already upgraded my Ultra 1.
I've been pretty happy with it.
Things are a little bit different.
You know, I remember early on people were saying that this is where liquid glass really can obscure some things sometimes.
I've been pretty happy with the changes on this, but I do need to spend a little bit more time getting used to the changes here.
One change that I'm looking forward to trying out is Workout Buddy because I do work out with my Apple Watch.
And the Workout Buddy features are going to give you some enticement and stuff.
The workout that I did, I didn't work out last night, but I worked out two nights ago, and I was using my Apple TV to do one of those Fitness Plus workouts.
And I was using my watch in that my watch was, you know, checking my heart rate and all that sort of stuff.
But I guess it's because it wasn't that was more of an Apple TV workout with fitness that Workout Buddy didn't kick in, even though I was upgraded then.
So maybe I need to, like, you know, go for a run or use my treadmill or something that's truly just on the watch.
So I was hoping that I would be able to report on Workout Buddy today, but I haven't done that yet.
One thing I can report on, this is a new operating system feature, but you have to have a newer watch model.
Not the newest because I'm using the Model 10, which came out last year, and it is this flick gesture.
And Brett, I was excited about it, and I have already used it numerous times this week because I love the fact that my watch is smart enough that it does try to show me what I want to see.
And so, for example, right now I'm just looking at my watch face.
But if I was listening to music or listening to a podcast, it would be in that sort of the screen that you see when you scroll up.
Right.
It shows the little thing and it would have like a little controller, which is good because that way I have an easy controller that I can tap pause play or something like that or skip a song.
But sometimes I just want to get back to that regular watch face because I want to see the date or I want to see the full time or something like that.
Right.
Before this week, I would have to I mean, I know this is first world problems.
I would have to sort of have my right hand and I would either scroll up or I would click on the
digital crown to sort of exit, to go back up to the screen, which is fine if I'm not holding
anything. But sometimes I'm like doing something with my right hand or I'm carrying something and
I'm just glancing at my eyes. But now, what you have with these newer models, I can just do like
a flick. And I have noticed that it's not like, it's not a super, if you go too fast, it doesn't
register. It's sort of like a, like a, like a half a second flick, not like a quarter second flick.
That makes sense. Those are my non-technical. But, but once you sort of figure out the rhythm to use,
it is really nice. It's just like, it's just one handed and it's really, really nice. And I'm,
I'm, I'm doing it. In fact, look, I'm doing it right now. And it apparently doesn't work on the
ultra one. I have to have the newer version, like you said, the ultra two, the ultra three,
The Apple Watch, I think Ultra 2, actually, I might be wrong about that.
It may only be the Ultra 3, but it definitely works on the Series 10 that I have.
Of course, it works on this year's Series 11.
Of course, it works on this year's Apple Watch Ultra 3.
And so, you know, if you have an older Apple Watch model, then you're not experiencing it yet.
But you will want, yeah, you see the speed that that person just did in the video?
That's it.
So it's a little bit more deliberate than just to like really, really fast, like you're flicking a fly away or something like that.
But it's a nice gesture.
And I mean, I'm just amazed.
It's almost like a wrist roll.
It's a more of a wrist roll.
I think of a flick as really quick, but it's like it's a slow roll.
It was a couple of years ago that Apple added the thing that like you can tap your fingers
together and it made something.
And I'm like, that's clever because like there's only so many gestures that you can use.
And now they found another gesture.
It's helpful.
I like it.
And so I will once again say, here we are in the year 2025.
Are we now out of gestures?
There's no, what more could you do with your hand?
And who knows, maybe in a couple of years, Apple will think of something else, but I like it.
So anyway, so I mean, that's just an example.
There's just so many little things, not nearly as many new things on the Apple Watch as there
are for the phone and the iPad, but there's a number of new features, plus the new interface,
which I do like.
I do like the liquid glass on the watch.
You don't see it everywhere, but when you see it, it's nice.
Things are a little bit, even just the lock screen is a little bit bigger.
The numbers are a little bit bigger and they have a sort of a cool little diagonal thing
on it, just a little bit more obvious.
It is across the board.
Thumbs up.
Big thumbs up from me.
We mentioned this last week.
Hypertension notifications on the Apple Watch.
Now, for this, you do need to have a Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later in order for this to work.
But I'm pretty excited to see how this is.
I feel like we're not going to see this kind of immediately because I feel like Apple has to collect some data.
Maybe you have to collect data.
Like a lot of these features on the Apple Watch have to go for several days or for you weeks, you know, to give you like kind of an average is the way a lot of this works.
But I'm just I'm really excited about the hypertension notification and not so much about the hypertension aspect.
It's just I just love seeing some new health applications for the Apple Watch.
And you just linked to this today because I think that this is this is going to be pretty nifty that they're going to have available there.
Yeah. Once you enable it and in order to enable it, you have to answer a few questions.
Like if you've already been diagnosed with hypertension, the feature doesn't work.
It's for people that haven't previously been diagnosed and you have to be over 18 years
old.
But once you turn it on, like you can immediately get a couple readings on it, but I believe
you have to wait 30 days.
It's much like the sleep apnea feature.
Sleep apnea looks at your sleep over a month and then it sort of gives you a report of
how you're doing.
And then you can get more granular and you can see it.
And so, you know, check, there you go.
It says, right, you just found it on the Apple website, 30 days.
So, you know, I started using this feature a few days ago.
So I guess, you know, sometime in mid-October, I'll have a sense of what it looks like.
Here's the legal speak, of course.
The hypertension notifications feature is not intended to diagnose, treat, or aid in the management of hypertension or other conditions.
They have to put that kind of stuff there.
All right.
Let's go a little bit quicker on the few other items that we wanted to cover, such as including the AirPods Pro 3.
So you've already got yours.
I can't wait until tomorrow when I can get mine, even though I'm going to be on a plane tomorrow.
It's like, that's exactly when I need them.
I just can't wait.
I mean, I think I'm almost just as excited about these as I am about the new iPhone, to be honest with you.
Let's start by saying the reviews have been excellent.
The people that have had these for a week have said they really do sound better and that the noise cancellation really is better.
and all these other features.
And so let me say right here, in my hand,
I have the AirPods Pro 2.
- Oh, look at that.
- And the AirPods Pro 3, and which is which?
There's no way you can tell.
- Oh, I can't tell, no.
- The case is basically the same.
I'm so happy that the AirPods Pros 2
have that little button in it that you press.
- That's the only way you can tell, right?
- Because literally, that's the only way I can tell.
And it's not that they are the same,
because when you look at the AirPods
and you hold them up next to each other,
They are slightly different, but I tell you, it's a good thing.
I accidentally, because I have both of them in front of me right now, and I accidentally
started to put the three into the case for the two, and it doesn't fit.
And it's a good thing it doesn't fit, because that way I know, oh, yeah, it's a good case.
You would have done it.
Because-
Okay, so are you using the threes right now?
You have them in your ears.
I actually have not yet paired my threes, because I just got them hours ago.
So I'm using my twos connected to my PC, because I'm talking to you on a boring Windows computer.
But I have tried the new AirPod Pros 3 with my iPad and my iPhone.
And so much to say.
Let's talk about the fit, first of all.
Apple, we discussed it last week.
They have made it a little smaller.
So it fits a little bit snugger in your ear.
And unlike having the three different tips, when you get it, it comes with a medium tip on it.
And then you get this little thing right here that you open it up and it's got four extra sizes in it.
Nice.
What interested me was I just assumed that it comes with a medium and they would give you two bigger sizes and two smaller sizes.
No, that's not what they did.
They give you three smaller sizes.
So the medium is pre-installed and you can opt for a small, an extra small or an extra, extra small.
And if you want to go the other size, you have one larger size, which is the large.
So I started with the medium and I thought these actually feel pretty good.
In fact, not just pretty good.
Like I immediately noticed that they felt better than I have ever felt without my AirPods Pro 2, which is good.
Did you tell the foam?
Could you tell the foam was in there?
It's not nearly as obvious as I thought it was because I even looked for it.
I'm like, okay, I guess it's there.
I'm not saying I didn't, you know, but it just feels better.
And so I started with the mediums and I thought to myself, I don't need to change anything.
These feel great.
And I was like, well, let me try the large.
And so I tried the large.
And at first I wasn't so sure.
And so I went back to the mediums.
As I'm sitting to you here, I've actually never done this in my life, but you mentioned this
last week in the podcast.
You said, public service announcement, you told people you don't have to use the same
size in each year.
And I'm like, okay.
So Brett told me that.
And so what I was doing just before I started this podcast is I had the large in my right
ear and the medium in my left ear.
And I was sort of liking that.
I don't know.
Maybe my ears are a little different shape.
I need to think about that.
But it's nice.
I'm going to go back and forth.
So the jury's out.
You know how you can do that hearing, the fit test on the iPhone where it plays some sounds in your ear and it tells you how smart it is?
I got greens on both medium and large.
So I feel like I can do either one.
It's just a question of which one is going to feel more.
Do I want something that feels a little bit more full of my ear, which actually might give me more active noise cancellation?
I don't know.
Or passive noise cancellation.
Or do I want the medium?
But it's nice to have those choices.
And then I guess a whole bunch of people in the world much have much much have much smaller ears than me since Apple has three smaller sizes.
So but I can already tell like instantly within five minutes, within one minute, it is clear that this fit is going to be better.
And, you know, mark my words.
We'll see where I am in six months.
But this is this looks to me like I don't see a need for third party tips because this just are so it feels better.
Wow. Interesting.
It's not that my other AirPods were bad.
I did like them.
It's just this is better.
This is better.
Um, I haven't yet listened to enough sound to real, I'll do this at home tonight to really
experience the, uh, like the sound, how much better the sound is.
Um, I have tried going back and forth and back and forth on noise cancellation because
here in the office, you know, it's an office environment.
So you've got like air conditioning in the background and stuff like that.
It's sort of like white noise, much, you know, air conditioning is almost like if you're
on a plane and you have that white noise.
And I definitely didn't notice that the new AirPod Pro 3 has more noise cancellation than the AirPod Pro 2.
Apple said it's two times better.
And some of the initial reviews that I read said that they're not lying on that.
That's an objective statistical thing and actually is twice as better.
So I'm just going to take their – we'll have to experience more with it myself.
So, so far, I am excited about this.
Plus, there's all the other advantages that you have with the newer two, like the better Find My, which I'm sure I'll do at some point.
the AirPods have better battery life in your ear.
So you can go longer between
when you need to put it in the case.
Now the case itself has a little bit less overall charge
because they've got extra things put in there.
So this is a win.
And if you have used the Pros,
the AirPod Pro or AirPod Pro 2 in the past,
and you're just gonna upgrade one thing in your life,
this is the least expensive thing to upgrade.
I guess maybe a watch might be cheaper if you get the nine,
I mean, if you get the 11.
But, you know, I think they're $250, and I'm excited about it.
And since I use my AirPods every day, all day long, it's going to be fun.
Yeah.
It's going to be fun.
You linked to a couple of stories.
One here, the AirPods Pro 3 feature is only available on iPhone 17 and the Pro, I guess, and Air.
It's improved precision finding, which is pretty interesting here.
Yeah.
So this is the Apple U2 chip, not the band.
but the um it's their ultra wide sham and so the idea is that when you're using the find my to like
not just to not just make your airpod case beep but like do you have that arrow like you go to the
left go to the right you're getting warmer you're getting colder um it's going to be even more
precise here and i do occasionally forget where i left my airpods because they're so small it's like
are they upstairs they downstairs are they my bedroom and so i do look forward to this um this
would be nice one other unless you have i have something else another uh do you have another
topic on this before I go on. There's a cool new feature. I don't know if you tried it out, Brett,
but there was a software update to the AirPods and it works in the new AirPods Pro 3, but it also
works in the AirPods Pro 2. And I think it may even work on the AirPods 4. I can't remember,
but it is this live translation feature. You haven't tried it yet, have you?
Yes, I have not yet.
Brett, this thing's awesome. Like seriously, this is so cool.
Okay.
I was going to go sit and watch like a foreign movie just to like do it translate that way.
I know.
Would that be fun?
Actually, my wife is a pretty good Spanish speaker.
I mean, I'm not saying that she can get away from the outside.
But like she, for someone like me that only parlays the Francais, I think she speaks Spanish pretty well.
And so I put her on the spot.
I'm like, you know, would you please just like speak some Spanish?
Let's go.
And so she just starts talking in Spanish, right?
I mean, pretty simple stuff, you know, I presume like Spanish 101 or that type of stuff.
But she starts speaking in Spanish.
And like within a second or two of her talking, my AirPods, like they dim the outside sound.
So I can still hear her, but it's not quite as loud.
And then, right, it starts to say in English everything that she's saying.
And I'm like, wow, I feel like I'm in the Jetsons.
This is so space.
Yeah, this is Star Trek, Next Generation.
I want to travel.
I want to go to the Dolomites like Austin Mann did.
I guess the Italy doesn't work till later this year.
So I want to go to the French Alps and speak French.
Or I want to go to Spain or Mexico.
I want to use this feature because it totally works.
Like they're talking and you're hearing it.
And so then what we did, Brett, was because she didn't have her own AirPods.
Actually, she uses Beats Pro.
I don't know if they have these feature available.
But you can also use the Translate app, the built-in one that's on your phone.
And so then, like I'm hearing in my ears what she's speaking almost in real time.
And then on my phone, I could just sort of hold it up.
And when I say something in English, it will, it will show it in English.
Right.
How are you doing?
And then it will also underneath it say, I don't know,
whatever that is, I don't speak Spanish.
And so that way she could look at the screen and see what I'm talking to her.
It's cool.
And so I only tried it that one time for just a few minutes,
but I'm already like, this is coolness.
So if you have the newest AirPod pros,
or if you have the prior version of the AirPod Pros 2,
which they've been selling for what, two years now,
two and a half years, this is a cool feature.
Find somebody that speaks another language and try it.
It is really, I mean, my initial reaction was,
this is like magical.
But then at some point when I'm traveling
or if I'm just communicating with someone
who seeks Spanish or native language or whatever else,
like this is gonna be totally useful.
And I mean, how wonderful, not to get too sentimental,
but like bringing in the world together,
we can all communicate with each other.
I mean, this is like, this is a good,
This is good.
This is bringing goodness into the world.
I've called these bionic ears.
And I've been referencing that as like the way to like drown out noises, be able to, you know, focus and listen.
I mean, it helps people from the accessibility standpoint.
To me, this is just like the next step.
And again, I think we talked about this last time.
It's just going to continue to improve because so much of this, I think, can be improved on the software side.
So you don't have to get, like you said, the newest and greatest app, AirPods Pro or whatever that they're going to come out with next.
This can be improved software-wise, and that gets me even more excited as well.
There was another feature quickly that I don't want to move on until we address this.
You can now use AirPods as an iPhone camera control.
Now, I usually do this on my Apple Watch.
You've been able to do this for a while.
You set up the iPhone.
You can walk with a group of people and you can have the remote control on the Apple Watch.
But now you can use your AirPods as a camera control as well.
Yeah.
This is crazy.
I tried this and it works like you would expect it.
You turn it on in settings and then –
You got to go turn it on.
Okay.
You set up your phone across the room and then you go get in the shot.
Or maybe you're not using it for a selfie.
Maybe – or with a group.
Maybe it's like you want to take a nighttime picture and you want your phone as still as possible.
So you don't want to like shake the phone by pressing the button.
You want to remotely trigger it, right?
That's another good use for it.
It works.
I mean, you just turn it on.
And then when I press the button on my AirPod, I can hear in my ear like a special tone.
It's a brand new tone I haven't heard before from Apple.
And then it's sort of like a little bit of a countdown timer, three, two, one.
And then your phone takes the picture.
It totally works.
But I haven't turned it off.
It's a countdown.
Because when I first heard this, I'm like, I don't want a picture with me holding my ear.
with my fingers up to my ear, but it counts down three, two, one, similar to what the Apple Watch
does. So you have time to pose before the camera goes off. But you bring up a good point though,
because depending upon which way you're posed, like people might see in the picture that you're
wearing an AirPod, which might be a little obnoxious for the picture. Maybe you need to turn your head,
like you have one in and turn your head so they see the other side. So it's nice that they have
this feature, but I will tell you, I turned it off immediately because although I can confirm that it
works, it's no better than the watch. And actually I prefer the watch feature because with the watch,
as you know, you can look at your screen when you run the camera remote app and you can actually
see a pic like a preview. So you can say, okay, everybody's stepped to the left one step. We got
to get more centered or something like that. And so I just feel like there's no reason I would
probably want to use this, but if you don't use an Apple watch now, and you do have AirPods,
now you have a remote control for your camera, which, which can be fun. You're on a family
vacation. You want a picture with everybody in it. There's nobody else around to take the picture.
Or like I said, you want to keep the camera really still for some reason.
So good on Apple for coming out with this.
I just don't think I'm going to use it myself.
This is an article from Ed Hardy at Cult of Mac.
I'll make sure it's linked in the show notes so that you can go because you have to turn it on.
I don't think it's on by default.
So you have to do that.
Correct.
Let's move to CarPlay with iOS 26.
I've used this just a little bit so far this week.
I can't really say there's a huge difference here.
But just again, the subtle changes and the subtle improvements I've been pretty happy with.
Yeah.
Perhaps the biggest change is that you can now have widgets.
And I love widgets.
I use them all the time in my office on my iPhone when it's in standby mode.
I have not yet.
I just haven't had time.
It's been too busy this week.
I haven't yet, number one, figured out what widgets might be helpful in the car.
And then number two, put them in there.
And so that is something that I look forward to trying.
What I have tried, I mean, not even that tried.
It just happens automatically.
you're driving the car and somebody sends you a text message, you know, it used to be,
or a phone call for that matter. It used to be that that would sort of take over the entire screen.
And now it's just sort of like a little window on top of like, if you're listening to music or
podcast or the map or whatever else. And I like that. That's an, in fact, that picture you're
showing right now is a good example of it. So you can have like, you know, a little,
a mini screen superimposed on whatever you were doing. So if you're using the maps app and you're
actually sort of half glancing at it to see like you have an upcoming turn you wouldn't necessarily
want to to lose that screen because somebody's calling you and so now it'll do both um so it's
sort of like a form of multitasking on the screen so um so it's it looks nice there's other little
changes too but those i think the two big ones one feature quickly my wife's excited about in fact
we're going to do this tomorrow i think she's going to come pick me up at the airport well now
you can have live activities on carplay from your phone and one of the live activities that i
very much enjoy is from the flighty app so it tells you you know when you're when your plane's
coming in well my wife needs to know it's just when it lands but if she's driving to the airport
she just has to pick up her iphone all the time to look at that live activity to see what flighty
is doing update but now she doesn't have to pick up the phone she can just see it in carplay which
i think is going to be pretty exciting and in fact that's an example of the widget feature i was
talking about that's just like an advanced widget it's a widget with a live activity very cool stuff
Now, you have been running the public beta of Vision OS 26 on your Apple Vision.
You link to a great review in Mac Stories, again, just by Devin Dundee.
Anything quickly you want to point out there?
We've talked a little bit about what you have seen sort of in the improvements.
And frankly, you know, the whole aspect of liquid glass is almost comes full circle here.
the claims have been that really liquid glass or some of the inspiration for the liquid glass
interface has come from the vision os and so it's just kind of interesting to see how that comes
back around here yeah and so there are some slight tweaks but it's not nearly as much of an interface
change because like you said liquid glass was inspired by vision os in the first place um so
you do have some quick tweaks you know i've talked in the past about some of the other cool features
since i've been running the public beta like the ability again back to widgets i can have like a
little widget with a clock or my battery life and I could just put it on the wall and it's there all
the time. So like I put it there, you know, two months ago and every time I sit in my living room
and I'm watching a show, I can still just glance on the wall and I can say, Oh, you know, what time
is it? I probably should go to bed soon. It's, you know, whatever. And so, um, it's an, it's a nice
little feature. I think the biggest change that came out with the final version is that there's
a new immersive environment. The video you're showing right now is that beach immersive environment,
but there's a new one called Jupiter.
And it looks like Jupiter,
but what's really,
it's the first time that Apple has released
an immersive environment
that can change in real time.
So it's as if you're sitting in Jupiter
and you're watching the moons move around.
And so it's a cool effect,
but what's really interesting to me
is like, it's a preview of the future
because we're going to have a time in the future.
You know, right now,
these immersive environments
that you would get your work done in,
like the beach one that you were just showing,
There's only the slightest amount of motion.
Like the water will have a water motion.
You know, a lot of video games do that sometimes
where like the water sort of looks like it's flowing.
But Apple's now, Jupiter is the first step
towards a new wave of environments
where you can have, you know, motion.
And you don't want to hit like motion sickness.
You want just something slowly.
But like, I can imagine a future where you're on the moon
and you'll slowly see the earth rise, you know,
just, you know, like that famous picture
from the NASA astronauts of, you know,
rising Earth over the moon's horizon.
And so these are things that I'm sure
will be coming in the future
and they're taking steps towards it.
So I'm glad that Apple is still moving forward
with the Vision OS.
Last item that you linked to, great little video.
You actually had a couple of videos that you show.
We talked about that, you know,
if you can't decide guide.
But I feel like I've seen some of this video.
I think it was in maybe the keynote, right?
This was in the keynote, yeah.
Okay, this was in the keynote.
But it's a fun video to watch if you just wanted to see the iPhone 17 Pro in action.
And frankly, getting dirty.
I think one of my favorite scenes here is like they're chasing horses running through mud.
And so the cameraman who is basically holding an iPhone 17 Pro is getting like mud splattered on it.
I mean, it's a little over the top.
It's a marketing piece, but it's fun.
Just like everything else.
A lot of times these Apple videos here.
But it just goes to show that this is something that, you know, Apple is putting going all in to say, like, yeah, we're tough when it comes to these iPhones.
I mean, it's not the iPhone Air.
Don't get us wrong.
But it's like the iPhone Pro.
It can take a beating and a lot of mud, apparently, which is kind of nice.
I regret to inform you that my brand new iPhone has yet to encounter a horse.
So I cannot report from 410 Experience on that.
You can't, yeah.
Or a pirate, apparently.
Or a pirate.
All right. In the know, let's talk about our favorite iOS 26 tips so far, because I mean,
there's just so much as we've been talking, but I'm going to tell you mine's really quick because
this is so wonderful. When you plug your iPhone in now, not only does it tell you how much
the percentage that your battery is already charged, it will give you an estimation of how
much time it'll take to get to full charge or I guess most of the time I've seen it it gets how
much it's going to get to 80 percent and so it says it right here you can see on the screenshot
here it'll say 28 percent charge 42 minutes to 80 percent now I've just seen this I haven't really
studied this because I almost kind of want to try what if I plug it in you know to uh an apple brick
versus maybe a magsafe connector you know whether it's q1 or 2 you know those kind of things I
haven't experimented with it that much, but just the fact that they give some of that information.
Thank you.
Like, that's so very helpful.
I like that.
Yeah, that is cool.
That's a neat one.
I like that.
My tip of the week is I'm a huge fan of the big new feature in iPadOS 26, which is the new working with multiple Windows features.
So for a long time, Apple has been tweaking this.
They've been trying.
I just want to talk about this one thing.
because it's so immediately apparent.
When you first update your iPad,
it's going to work the same way as before
with the stage manager and stuff like that.
But if you go into settings
and if you're watching the video,
you're showing it right here.
You go to the settings,
there's something called multitasking and gestures.
And you'll see that you have three choices.
Now, by default, it's going to be on stage manager,
which is the one that we had last year
or last week for that matter.
But the two new ones are called
windowed app and full screen apps.
Windowed app is the awesome one.
This is the one where you can make any window, any size.
Windows can be on top of each other.
You've got, it's basically just, it's the same interface that you know and love for a computer.
It's just iPadified a little bit.
So like things are a little bit, you know, it's the iPad version of it.
But when you have, you know, when I, lots of times I'm using my iPad, you know, whatever,
I'm just touching with my screen, but sometimes I have a keyboard hooked up to it.
And if I really get intense, I have a keyboard and a trackpad hooked up into it.
And then I'm in my serious work mode.
And when you're in that serious work mode and you're in this new mode, you know, your
cursor changes to an arrow, just like a computer.
So it's much more precise.
You can have these windows.
And I mean, you can multitask.
It is God bless Apple for realizing that although they did a nice job in the past, it's time
to sort of rethink it and say, yes, good job.
You got as far as you could get with the old system, but this is better.
This is just better.
And so for people that do a lot of multitasking, but I will say this, I'm here to tell you that you don't want to stay in this mode all the time.
Because if you're not doing serious multitasking, if you're just, you know, using your email and then I'm using my PDF program or whatever, I actually like to be in a full screen mode.
And you can be in a full screen mode, even in the Windows mode, you just drag it out to the full screen.
But what I've actually found, the number one thing that I've found is there is the control panel.
You know, you swipe up from the top right on your iPad.
And in fact, I sent you this link for it.
Yeah.
So if you go into there, one of the little widgets, and it's highlighted here on this
Apple support page, it's like a circle that's got like three different rectangles in it.
Yeah, it's the stage manager icon.
And what it will do is you can make it so that it will switch between the windowed mode
and the full screen mode.
And so this is what I'm doing now.
And this is it.
This is what I've always wanted.
A lot of the time, I won't even say most of the time, I stay in full screen mode.
So every app automatically falls scrolling and that's fine.
But then when I want to be more productive and work with a bunch of different apps, all
I do is swipe down from the control panel and tap that button.
And like this, it switches me from the full screen mode to the brand new windowed mode
where I can have multitasking things on top of each other.
Everything's really, really cool.
And then does it remember your windows?
Like when you go back.
Okay.
So all of them stay the way they are.
Okay.
And it's just really, really nice.
If I want to have two things next to each other, if I want to have two things, like one's one
third, one's two third, or one's on top of the other, or three's on top of each other.
All of the old stage matter thing, where they had things on the side, that's all.
Yes.
You know, that's all going on.
It's just using Windows.
And, you know, as cool as Windows mode app, when you first try it, you might say, well,
this is really nice if I'm being a power user, but do I want to live this way all the time?
And Apple, now that they have put this little trigger here that you can change it, like this
is it.
You switch between, if you want full screen mode all the time, you have it.
If you want windowed mode, you switch to it.
It takes you a fraction of a second to switch between it.
This is it.
I mean, this is the iPad.
This one new feature alone makes the iPad so much better for when I'm getting work done
because sometimes I'm using a bunch of different apps at once.
And sometimes I'm using one app at a time.
And it's now effortless to switch between them.
And then add on top of that, all the other new features, like the fact that we now have
windows on the iPad for the first time.
And, you know, I'm sorry, not Windows,
file, edit, view, all those menus is what I'm going to say.
You know, it's just the iPad has grown up.
This is the iPad growing up.
And we are here to experience it.
So it's through puberty now.
It's gone through puberty.
It's grown up now.
The iPad has its first job.
Good job.
I'm so glad you got hired, you know,
and do a good job with this job.
And so it's really nice.
And like, again, it is a first job
because it'll get better over time from here.
This is just the first version of it, but it is a breath of fresh air.
Okay, so let me ask a question here because that's switching between full windowed mode, right, and what do they call it here?
I already forgot.
Windowed apps and full screen apps.
Now, if you're in the windowed mode, they now have what we have historically called the stoplight buttons, right, in the top left corner.
And if you hit the green button, that doesn't put you into full screen mode, right?
It just makes that one app into a full screen app.
Does that make sense?
So in other words, I'm saying that's not the same as what you're talking about.
When you go into the control center, you go to a completely different mode.
But you can make an app full screen in the windowed mode just by hitting that little green button, right?
Yeah.
Instead of resizing it manually.
And the difference is when you're in the fancy windowed mode at the very bottom right of your screen, there's like a little semicircle sort of half little sort of like a crescent.
Because you can hold it with your finger to move it in, to move it out.
So, of course, it could be full screen or it could also be like the size of like an iPhone, you know, like really, really tiny.
So you can make it big, small, you can make whatever you want.
And so you have that flexibility in the fancy, complicated windowed mode.
But then when I just hit my button right now and I switch over to full screen mode, now that little crescent in the bottom right corner goes away because I can't change the screen.
And I don't want to.
And it's nice because if I put my finger in that bottom right corner because I'm touching something, I don't have to worry about accidentally changing the screen window size or anything like that because that little control is not there.
And so that way, if you really want the full screen mode, you're going to stay in it.
You're not going to get messed up.
You know, it's fine.
I've noticed, for example, when I'm in the windowing mode, you know how in many apps have had this feature on the iPhone or the iPad where you could sort of tap at the top of the screen to scroll all the way to the top of a list.
You know what I'm talking about?
Yes.
Yep.
But in the fancy new windowed mode, if I tap twice at the top of the screen, it actually makes the window change size.
It's almost like hitting that green button.
And so sometimes I'm like, oh, no, no, no.
That's the way it works on Mac too.
Yeah.
Exactly.
I was trying to scroll up.
I wasn't trying to change the screen size.
But when you're in that single window mode, well, it's fine because you can tap at the top as many times as your heart can touch.
It's not changing the window size because it can't change the window size when you're in this mode.
And so it's just like the things that would be annoyances are gone when you really want to be in a full screen mode.
And when you really want to be in that multiple screen mode, you have all the power features.
It's great.
This is a great tip because my wife uses an iPad.
It's basically her computer.
And she was asking me just a couple of days ago because she got it.
She's like, what is this?
Like, what is this Windows?
Like, I'm not I don't want this.
I want split screen back or because I think if you go to that full screen mode, you can still get into split screen.
Right.
I think that they still kept that.
If I'm not mistaken, I'd have to test that on there.
So when you're when you're in actually when you're in the full screen mode, can you get to split screen?
Maybe you can.
I actually haven't tried that.
Yeah.
Well, because that's just the way she was used to doing it.
Right.
And so I tried to show her in the windowed mode, the windowed app, so that you can resize and everything.
But I got to tell you, like, I don't know that she was happy about that.
But I'm thrilled.
I'm going to tell her about this control center.
She might like to check this out.
But what you can do when you're in that fancy new windowed mode, you can sort of take a window.
This is like an old computer feature.
And, like, if you've got a window, you just sort of flick it to the left side of the iPad.
Yeah.
And it fills up the left side of the screen.
Yeah.
And then you take another window and you flick it to the right side.
And so now you've got side by side that you didn't have to, like.
The split screen.
manually figure out how to line it up.
Just let the iPad do it.
Flick, flick, perfect.
You got side by side.
And then if you want one of them bigger,
you can go change it from there.
But I mean,
but it's just all these cool little power features.
Jeff, it's going to be a fun week
for the next few days for both you and me.
We're both going to have our new brand new toys,
brand new iPhones,
brand new AirPods 3 Pro.
I'm going to have a brand new Apple Watch Ultra 3.
We're going to have a lot to talk about next week.
And I'm excited and looking forward to it.
So we will talk with you next week.
Thanks, Brett.
Bye-bye, everybody.
