Good morning, Jeff. Jeff, you said, Apple, you need to have your announcement on September 9th.

And Apple said, let's do what Jeff says. It came true. We've been talking about this for a while,

several months, and I liked how you started off your post today.

iPhone JD readers have known for over two years that it was going to be on September 9th, 2026.

Well done, my friend.

And I'm just excited that we have the confirmation now.

Yeah, and such a big day in Apple history.

I mean, the very first Apple introduction of the Apple Watch was on September 9th back in 2014.

And the very first iPad Pro, which I've got one of those right next to me too, was on September 9th.

So September 9th is a big day for Apple.

It's been a big day for the last two years and now three years in a row.

we have new iPhones and of course we believe that we're gonna have the folding iPhone this year so

it'll be certainly memorable um but surprise and shine as they say surprise and shine yeah that's

that's weird I mean rise and shine surprise and shine I thought it was funny you leaked to another

article what was this from Julie Clover that surprise and shine doesn't I mean it's good for

us if you speak if you're a native English speaker but in other countries it may not have the same

message uh what were some of my some of your favorites that that came out here so i like the

the one that's in spain which is the ray of wow a ray of wow that was interesting um a couple but

a couple more that jumped out at me i didn't mention it in my post but the one in china is

interesting okay china let me find it here it's a bunch of characters which of course i don't know

how to pronounce but they say it roughly means a bright new chapter prepared to be dazzled and

And that's interesting because a bright new chapter prepared to be dazzled.

But the first part of that, the new chapter, it sort of makes you think about like a chapter

of a book, you know, like because the folding iPhone, I don't know, it's meant to be there

because apparently the first character, the character chapter, the chapter character can

also mean a page of a book.

So that one's interesting.

I have to admit, though, I think my personal favorite one, and maybe this is just because

I took high school French, but the phrase is en jeu nouveau bientôt.

And what that translates to is a new day soon.

A new day is en journavue and bientôt means soon.

But what I like about it is that much like the English one, surprise and shine, it's sort

of like, you know, the rise and shine phrase.

The French one, I don't know if it's a familiar phrase, but it rhymes.

I sort of like, you know, it's got that little alliterative rhyme.

It's like en journavue bientôt.

You know, they both have that O to it.

So I personally like that one.

Now, it may be that some of these other ones rhyme too, and I just don't know how to pronounce

those because I did not take high school Portuguese or anything else.

So who knows?

As far as I know, the Chinese ones rhyme too.

I could not tell you.

But anyway, so, but it's, it's cute.

I don't remember this.

If Apple has done this in the past, I'm sure they have, and I'm just not remembering it,

but I do think it's funny that they have something unique to each country.

And I think it means that Apple wants to get excitement around the world.

And so put something in your native tongue.

And I really think this is going to be a big one.

Just in case anyone out there is wondering what in the world are Brad and Jeff talking about,

when Apple actually formally announces the event that's going to happen,

it usually sends out an email, right?

And I got the email.

So there's like the common folk that get the email.

I assume the journalists get a slightly different one with some other instructions and everything.

And there's always a little graphic and a little phrase.

And that's what we're talking about here.

And this one that came out this week, it's a very interesting Apple logo with some kind of like rays around it.

And so the tagline is surprise and shine.

Now, if you go to Apple.com right now, just go to Apple.com website.

Okay.

Okay.

Very top of Apple.com.

You'll see it right there.

Look at it right there.

So this is announcing the surprise Apple event.

Now, what I'm used to doing every time that we've got one of these announcements, Jeff, and you linked to somebody else that was doing this today as well, it's like, what does that image look like?

Are there hidden secrets inside that image?

And you linked to something here from Tim Hardwork that it's like the shininess reminds me of a button or the rays of sunshine means it's going to be a better display.

I mean, people just get all kinds of nutcrackier about what this could possibly mean.

But like you, I've never gone and looked at maybe what it means and maybe other languages.

And to your point, I don't maybe they haven't done this before.

But again, both you and I know Apple absolutely knows that people are looking into this.

And so whatever they're doing is from a purposeful standpoint.

And the fact that they are releasing that in maybe different languages, they know people have been trying to translate this and understand what could be the hidden meaning.

behind all of this. Yeah. The phrase is criminal, criminal, criminal, criminology is the idea of

trying to read something in the pictures, which, you know, is a reference to the fact, right. You

know, the Soviets way back in would sometimes alter photos and it would, you know, indicate to you

something important, like the fact that nobody would, somebody was no longer, uh, you know,

favored by the powerful. And in fact, you know, but, um, and you know, it's a little silly to do

the criminology for the Apple announcements. And yet, and yet, if you look back in history,

Every once in a while, there are things in there that when you look back at them with

20-20 hindsight, you're like, oh, well, maybe that is sort of an indication of Siri and

that this is an indication of something else.

And so there is something to it.

Now, having said that, the ones that like Mark Gurman of Bloomberg says that he believes

that the shining light, sort of like the sun shining through, could be indicating the mechanical

aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Now, I think this is an exaggeration.

And what he's referring to is there's a rumor that Mark Gurman is spreading that one of the things that will be unique this year is only on only on the highest end iPhone, not not the folding version, the regular version, the iPhone, which we presume is going to be called the iPhone 18 Pro Max, the biggest and biggest one, which is the corollary.

I have the iPhone 17 Pro Max. So this year's corollary of that. The rumor is that it will have the aperture, which, you know, can adjust how much light comes into the camera that it will.

It will be able to move.

It will be mechanical, much like a real, you know, SLL camera or even just a less expensive

camera.

And so the idea is if this rumor is true, it would allow the largest iPhone to take even

better pictures, you know, for light and stuff like that.

So we'll say it's a possibility.

You never know.

Now, I personally think that although that rumor may well end up being true, I personally

seriously doubt that this image is supposed to give us hints about that.

but uh so i think he's stretching a little bit but regardless hey it's fun we have less than two

weeks to speculate on what the tagline might go for it what the picture might be so why not have

fun with it he and he also says the background here which is this sky blue color i don't even

know i mean i would just generally call it blue but i'm sure there's a lot of people out there

could be a little more specific about it but he says that could indicate a possible new color

for the iPhone 18 Pro.

You know, we'll see.

Yeah, I just got to say,

I'm so glad that you leaked to this.

I'm having fun going through

the rest of these phrases.

In Norway, it's time for good surprises.

That's what it translates into.

Sweden translates into anticipation and wonder.

In Poland, it's astonishment and revelation.

It's amazing.

I had gone through this list, and it's just that's a lot of fun on there.

Every single one of them is fun.

Worth reading, yeah.

September 9th, we have been talking about now that we know for sure is happening.

This is typically like the fall release of hardware.

And most of the time it's been with the iPhones that we announced.

Now, they've trickled out some additional hardware products to your point that you just mentioned.

This is where we got the Apple Watch.

This fall timed announcement.

This is where we got the iPad Pro.

We are excited about what maybe else Apple would release.

But it doesn't look like that they're going to announce on September 9th new Mac minis.

Because they already announced that this week.

This was a little crazy.

I didn't have this on my bingo card.

that this was dropping.

Apple did this in a press release.

They actually released updated Mac minis and desktop Macs.

Now, I know that one of these stories,

I can't remember exactly where you linked to,

maybe it's here in Jason Snell.

Like one of the reasons maybe that Apple did this

is to get that announcement out of the way

so as to allow more room for additional products

that we don't even know about coming on September 9th.

I think that that, you know,

based on the rumors that there's some logic there

And Apple has done this in the past when they want to have a big announcement and they don't have time for everything.

They will sometimes a few weeks early announce some of the other things that are still great, but maybe they just don't want to spend as much time on like an in-person announcement.

And, you know, the rumor, of course, is that we're going to not only get the new iPhone, which would include the iPhone, the folding iPhone.

By the way, the rumor is that it's only going to be a pro iPhone.

It's not going to be the entry level iPhone in September 9th.

But the rumor is that in addition to iPhone, which is big in itself, I mean, iPhones, it's the biggest announcement that Apple makes every year is the iPhone.

It's their number one product.

This is huge.

It's newsworthy.

You know, this is the sort of thing that spills into just the regular news because, you know, everybody has an iPhone.

But in addition, the rumor is that we're going to see a new Apple Watch, which might be less exciting, but who knows.

And perhaps more interesting, we're going to see a new range of home products, including, for example, an updated version of the, what are the speakers called?

The HomePods.

Thank you.

The HomePods and HomePod Mini, but maybe one that has a screen on it and that can actually have widgets on it and you can interact with it.

So that's, I mean, if they do all of that, that is a lot.

And there's no room.

I mean, there's just no room to have new Macs as well.

And so, you know, it's very, very, very rare for Apple to have new hardware announcements in August.

It's been a long time since they've done this.

And yet they did it this year.

So we now have new Macs, a new Mac Mini, and a new Mac, what's the studio, the Mac Studio.

So that Mac Studio, right.

Now, you mentioned you're excited about this because you do have a Mac Mini and you've had it for a while.

You might be tempted to upgrade now.

That's actually not true.

I can no longer say that I'm going to upgrade because I actually did buy one last night.

So since the time that I wrote those words, I'm like,

and the other thing is they don't actually come out until September 22nd.

Again, a reason that Apple could have announced it on the 9th, right?

Right.

But I'm like, you know what?

Let me get in line now.

And I can always do the pre-order.

I changed my mind because the reviews and stuff like that.

But it's interesting.

I ended up getting the, there's both the M6, which is a brand new.

These are the new processors.

New processor.

But it's just, I don't want to say just the M6 because it's a very impressive processor,

but it's just the regular version.

And, you know, Apple's processors for Macs and for iPads too, they have, you know, the

regular version and then they have traditionally a pro version.

and then they have traditionally a max version and then an ultra version, you know, four different

levels. And so for the M6 right now, they just have level one, that entry version. And they don't,

they don't always come out with those, those additional versions of it. But so the M6 is

going to be wonderful, power efficient. Traditionally, that entry lever processor is really better for a

portable computer, a MacBook. And the reason I say that is because they are traditionally powerful,

but also power efficient.

And power efficiency is especially important

for a portable computer with a battery, right?

Power efficiency is less important for a desktop Mac.

I mean, it's nice to have it use less electricity.

But anyway, so this entry level one,

if you get the regular Mac Mini, you can get the M6.

But you could also get a Mac Mini or the Mac Ultra

that have the M5 either Pro or Max or Ultra.

And so the different levels.

And so those are gonna be a lot more powerful.

And so although the number is one less, it's M5 instead of M6, that those are actually more powerful.

And so for me, for example, Brett, I currently have an older Mac Mini that has a four terabyte, I want to say hard drive.

It's not a hard drive.

It's an SSD, a four terabyte SSD.

And if you get the new M6, you can't get a four terabyte SSD.

The most you can get is two terabytes.

Really?

It's more entry level, right?

And so the last thing that I want to do is try to take my current stuff and squeeze it down into half the space.

For having a Mac, there's a real advantage to having things like your photo library locally.

You don't have to.

There's ways to have it on an external drive.

But it just works better if it's on the internal drive, I find.

And I have a ton of photos.

And so I can't go in two terabytes.

I need four.

In fact, I'd love to have more than four terabytes.

It's just too expensive.

So if I wanted to get a four terabyte, I have to get the M5 Pro, not the M6.

But don't get me wrong.

I actually want the M5 Pro because it's a more powerful processor.

It's got a bunch of other things to it too.

You can also have more memory.

There's a limit to how much memory you can have with the M6.

My last Mac Mini, Brett, the one that I currently have, has 16 gigabytes of memory, which is fine for me.

But I know that there are some things I do that having more memory would be good.

And if you want to get more memory, you have to get the M5 Ultra.

So what I decided to get when I pressed the button late last night.

Yes, please.

was to get the entry-level Mac Mini M5 Pro has 24 gigabytes,

which would be more than I have now.

Yeah, that's great.

You know what?

I might just double that.

So I got the 48.

So, and the reason I did that is, and don't get me wrong,

this is expensive.

Memory is so crazy expensive right now.

Crazy right now, yeah.

But I'm like, I want to have this Mac Mini for a long time.

I know that AI is going to be more and more of a thing.

I don't know how much I'll be doing of local AI.

but you know, I want to have that plus memory. You can do so much with it. And so I'm just feeling

like we're entering an error where memory, I mean, everybody in the world wants memory,

which is why it's so expensive. But, um, so anyway, so that's what I got. I got the four

terabyte with 48 gigabytes and, um, we'll see if I change my mind, I can always cancel my order.

Um, right. And, and we'll see, we'll see. We'll see. That's so, I'm so excited for you. Cause I

know how much you enjoy using that, that Mac mini, because I know you do a lot of like video editing

and some of all the things that you know the it's a little bit of a playground for you but it's a

serious computer i mean i i did not see this coming i just thought it was great they had a fantastic

little video that came with it like they're they're the mighty mac as they're calling it

hard they're mighty mac mini very beefy they even use that word uh by the way cute little video here

that you linked to where apple was announcing it which the first time i watched it i'm like oh well

that's some nice, you know, CGI,

like whoever was doing the animation on there was great, but no,

it's literally claymation.

Cause you link to another behind the scenes video where it showed how they

were doing it step-by-step one frame of, you know,

like in the old school,

like we take the clay and we do it one frame at a time that I don't know.

I just feel like that.

That's impressive when we have such high power, you know,

these are Mac minis that could are more than capable of creating CGI

animation, but yet we're doing an ad for it.

with doing manual claymation.

And I just think that's a beautiful mix.

I like that.

For people of a certain age, like you and I,

I mean, whenever I see those claymation things,

I think of those Rankin and Bass Christmas specials

that we watched as kids, which are so fabulous.

So fabulous.

Absolutely.

Anyway, enough on the new Macs.

But the thing about the Macs that might be interesting issue

is you were saying, and somebody that I linked to today

was making the same comment, is that I think it's interesting

because it may give us, yeah, thank you, Ryan Christoffel.

It gives us a little insight, perhaps, not perhaps,

Yeah. Into what the iPhone is going to have, because although the Macs use the M processors, you know, the M5, M6 and iPhones use the A processors.

Right. When Apple develops processors, I mean, there's their close cousins. Right. There's a lot between the two of them.

And so one thing, for example, is my iPhone, the one that you have to uses a three nanometer process to make it.

So three, three minute nanometer size, which is still incredibly tiny. Right.

like three nanometers, but the brand new M6 is two nanometers. And the smaller the processor,

I mean, there's the less space that things got to travel back and forth, right? You can be more

efficient and you can be faster. And so it's, it is, is widely, widely rumored that this brand new

iPhone that we're going to see in two weeks is going to have an A20, probably an A20 Pro processor

is probably the name that they'll use. And it is rumored to be a two nanometer process and, you know,

space, things like efficiency, those things I was just talking about that I said are more important

for a portable computer than a desktop computer. On a phone, you definitely want to have efficiency,

right? You want to have as much battery life as possible. And so having a two nanometer process,

I mean, the first really ever, this is going to be fantastic. So anyway, I think that we can get

some insights. The Macs tell us a lot. The fact that Apple dropped this means they have bigger

things to say in the ninth. The fact that they have a two nanometer process, I think, gives us

some hints just to the new iPhone.

And you put all of it together along with, you know,

our fancy new taglines about surprise and shine.

And like, I think this is going to be a really big September 9th event.

I'm so excited.

That wasn't the only piece of hardware that Apple announced this past week.

If you have been holding out for the new Apple polishing cloth,

I'm happy to tell you, Andrew O'Hara at Apple Insider,

tells us the Apple's new and cheaper Apple polishing cloth is almost as good as the original.

And actually, when I saw this, I know we're joking about it,

because I remember when this first one came out,

because it was $19 for like a microfiber cloth,

although that's not even doing it justice,

because I know Apple went above and beyond.

It was like two-ply.

I mean, and I actually drooled over a little bit,

because I'm like, I really would like to have one of those.

But the next thing I thought of, Jeff,

is that I remember when you get an Apple Vision Pro,

Don't they have a special cleaning cloth that comes with it?

And you have one of those, obviously.

I do.

And it's a little different from this one.

I've never purchased an Apple cleaning cloth.

But like you said, I did get a version of one.

What I like about Andrew's post is that he actually has a comparison.

Like he has a picture in here.

He does.

It's good.

It actually lines up every single one of them.

I mean, again, it's a little silly because they're just polishing cloths.

I will tell you, Brett, that I actually did buy one of these because they're only $9.

The original?

Or the $9 one?

You had a shopping spree last night.

You were doing great.

I bought this one even earlier because I figured it's only nine bucks.

I'm just curious what it's all about.

I want to get one.

I know.

I bought it.

I don't know.

Nine bucks.

We'll see.

It's kind of fun.

It's a nano texture finish.

Anyway, there's a little video here.

I'll make sure that I'll link to it, of course, because Andrew, who is a little bit tongue-in-cheek, he does the comparison.

But on the other hand, I love having polishing cloths.

I mean, even if I just carry one for my glasses all the time.

you know, there's fingerprints.

You and I use the iPad all the time.

As much as I joke about it, yeah, I mean,

I still have my iPhone JD polishing cloth,

just like you're using yours right now.

But it's like, I like to make sure

that I have some around it for nine.

It used to be $19 when it came out

and the internet just, you know,

raked Apple over the rails on that.

I was like, come on, $19 for a polishing cloth.

So now it's down to $9.

And that's a little bit more affordable.

Thank you very much.

It could be the most affordable thing

you can buy from Apple.

I seriously doubt that Apple sells anything else for under $10.

So the other significant thing about September 9th,

other than the fact that they're going to make all of these announcements and

it's going to be so exciting, Jeff, it is the end of an era.

Tim Cook on September 1st is now going to be, I want to say he's stepping down,

but he's really transitioning, right?

To whatever the senior executive,

whatever position that they made up for him and rightly so,

And that means we don't expect him to be on the stage, right?

He's not going to be leading.

I mean, maybe he'll make a surprise cameo or something.

But John Ternus is taking over as CEO of Apple on September 1st, which means that September 9th, he should be the one leading the show.

Exactly.

So this is our last podcast with Tim Cook as Apple CEO.

Oh, now you're making me sad.

There you go.

You know, and and, you know, even though Tim Cook is still going to be working at Apple, like you said, he's going to be chairman of the board.

He's going to be dealing with, you know, governments and stuff like that.

He will have far fewer responsibilities, presumably a lot more free time.

Do you think, Brett, that it's going to change the frequency with which Tim Cook listens to this podcast?

Well, you know, you know, on the one hand, you could say that, like, he has less of a need to know what's going on in the news.

You know, on the other hand, he's going to have more free time every weekend.

It's just, I know how much he enjoys it though.

You know, and it's like, he looks forward to it every weekend.

So I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the frequency with which he listens to this

podcast will be the same.

That's going to be my prediction.

And I will stand behind that.

I will stand by this.

But yes, no, it is in momentous.

I mean, Tim has been the CEO for 15 years.

We've talked about this for the last couple of months, but I mean, under any estimation,

everything that has happened under Apple with him, you know, he has brought the company to

new heights financially to new products have come out.

It's been fantastic.

But it's time, you know, the leadership's changed.

And one hopes that with the new changes, there's new things.

You know, Tim Cook's background, of course, was in operations.

And believe me, Apple ran a very tight ship under him.

It's like supply chain and everything.

Supply chain.

Yeah.

John Ternus' background is hardware.

And wouldn't it be interesting, perhaps coincidental, but, you know, we've just described this September

9th event as having, you know, a big step forward in Apple hardware is what we think.

And that would be the first one under John Ternus.

You know, will we look back 15 years from now and say the big thing that we saw under John Ternus was real advances in Apple hardware under Ternus?

And again, you can't pin all responsibility to a single person.

But if this is all true, if the rumors are true, it will be an interesting first step for, as you say, John Ternus to lead the September 9th event.

Apple apparently hosted a farewell party.

I don't know if it was a retirement party, a farewell party on August 23rd this past week.

Talking about going out with a bang, you linked to another little video here that, wow.

I mean, why not enjoy your farewell party giving Pikachu an apple from the apple trees that are growing in Cupertino?

That's pretty fun.

And then last, I love this little story you also linked to from, who is this, Joe Rosignal at MacRumors.

the top quotes from the past 15 year of Tim Cook.

And I just, the thing is, it's funny,

because I remember almost all of these,

either that you and I have talked about,

or that just over the years that we have, you know, remembered.

My favorite in here, where did he say it?

It was basically about his, he believes that his greatest,

the greatest legacy of Apple is going to be in the health sphere, right?

which we have talked about over and over from the idea of the Apple Watch and just what,

you know, the tracking, like all the things we have seen over the past 15 years that I

think Tim Cook has really led.

He goes, I think when we look back one day and ask what has been Apple's greatest contribution,

it will be in health.

He said that in August of 2022.

Just good stuff there.

And that's that has been a consistent theme under Tim Cook.

I mean, the Apple Watch is consistent with we know that Tim Cook is a big health enthusiast.

You know, he gets up early and works out every day.

Right, right.

So unquestionably, you know, there, again, how much are things steered by a single person?

And yet, if you're the CEO, you really can steer the company.

I truly believe that there's been a number of times over the last 15 years when Apple

has had, you know, forks in the road, which way to go.

And Tim Cook has pushed them more towards health initiatives.

And I do think that Apple's a better company for it.

I think we as users are a better company.

You know, how many times do we report on people whose Apple Watch gave them an alert that ended

up saving their life?

And so that's great. I'm sure that they will keep that focused on health, even under John Ternus.

But I definitely think that's something you can give Tim Cook credit for.

And, you know, there's lots of great quotes in here.

My next great quote, just real quick, apparently a month after that, in September 2022, a customer emailed Tim Cook.

You know, he's been famous for replying to some emails.

And this customer said, why doesn't the iPhone support RCS, which is, you know, a messaging protocol,

when Android smartphones already supported that.

And Tim Cook's response, buy your mom an iPhone.

That's the way to lead.

Okay, one thing that I hope isn't going to tarnish Tim Cook's legacy

is going out with the fact we've talked about Apple Maps

is now going to have ads.

And you can tell by the way I'm introducing this,

I'm not happy about this.

Now, every time that I go into Apple News, even though you and I pay for Apple One subscription, I'm paying for Apple News, but I still get ads in there.

I'm okay with maybe one or two.

I'm not a complete get rid of everything, but it gets in the way so often, and I'm just nervous of what the ads in Apple Maps are going to look like.

You and I have talked about this, and the reason we're talking about it again today is because apparently some people are already seeing some ads in Apple Maps.

You and I have both confirmed with each other earlier.

We don't see them yet in my Apple Maps.

I don't know if they need an update or what, but I don't know how to stave that off for as long as possible yet.

Yeah, maybe it's where you're located in the country.

But according to the reports, we're starting to see people in the United States and Canada that when you open up the Maps app, you are starting to see these ads.

And if you want to check yourself to see if you have them right now, just opening up the Maps app.

And if you sort of scroll down, you know how like one of the first things you'll see is recents, which is things that you recently saw.

Right below that, apparently, you're going to see a new category, which I don't yet see on my phone.

But the new category is called suggested places.

And apparently when you look under suggested places, actually suggested places may exist right now.

But the point is that right in the top of suggested places, you're going to see an entry that's got a little icon.

It looks like from the picture I'm looking at now, it's a little blue icon that tells you it's an ad.

But again, this is very much like when you do a Google search.

The very first entry at the top of Google search is going to be an ad.

And you need to scroll down to see the quote unquote real one.

So we'll see.

I mean, again, this is also new that people are just starting to see it.

And, you know, I linked this article from Wesley Hilliard in which Apple Insider in which he thinks that it actually might be a good thing for a number of reasons that he goes through here.

And then John Gruber said that he saw like a suggestion for a car wash that was like 30 minutes away from him.

And he's like, yeah, I'm not going to watch. Yeah, I'm not going to draw or maybe 30 miles away from him.

But, you know, the point is it was far away. So but again, these are early days.

if they are unobtrusive, tasteful, and perhaps sometimes even helpful, I'm okay with it. As

we've discussed before, you know, the old analogy of, you know, when it used to be the days of the

yellow pages, sometimes it was helpful to see which plumber took out the big ad because you

could learn about it. And so I'm hoping that this will be okay. But, you know, we just talked about

the Tim Cook era being the health era. Another hallmark of the Tim Cook era has of course been

profitability, but the way that you get to profitability is it's not just selling great

products, but it's also using different revenue streams. And this is consistent with it. And,

um, I just hope that they don't go too far and, um, and we'll see. So, I mean, I, it will be

interesting, you know, again, I presume it, I presume in a mere number of days, Brett, you,

me and everybody else is going to start to see these. So. I, uh, I'm not again, so happy about

that, but we'll see, you know, if you call it, if you don't call it ads and you call it

suggested places that takes a little bit of that sting out of it it's like well oh yeah i'd like

to have somebody suggest a good place to go but i think what you were talking about here if i zoom

in on this on this little picture here it's similar again this is fairly similar to what i expect from

from something like in google there is that little blue little button there that says add ad and you

know sometimes i think in google i think it says sponsor so you just know a lot of times i just

scroll right past that unless I that's something that I really want or anyway I I just know that

at that point if I click on that I'm gonna get tracked something along those lines are gonna

get tracked now I know Google's tracking everything that I click on but in a similar way I just don't

know how much tracking necessarily that's gonna be and you know maybe in the back end there's like

so much revenue that you get when you click on an ad just like you're talking about there but

I don't know I just I don't I don't I don't like the trend but we'll see hopefully it won't be as

bad. I will say one thing that I was reminded when I opened up my maps app to just see whether

or not I have the ads yet, that when you scroll down in the Apple apps app, Apple maps app,

one of the things that you'll see is at least for most, for many cities, you'll see something

called guides. We love, I don't know if you see that right now. And I will tell you that's actually

an example of something useful because I was looking at it last night, for example, and like

I'm here in new Orleans and new Orleans is a big tourist town. So there's lots of things to have

guides for, but like there was one of them that was from some publication or website. I don't even

know called, you know, YOLO, you know, you only live once, I guess, but there was one for a New

Orleans called YOLO, New Orleans mini black book. And if you tap on it, what it has, it's a little

guide of like hotels and restaurants that are worth, and bars that are worth checking out.

And I will tell you, like, if somebody was coming to me to go to New Orleans and said,

what are some great places to go to? This is a, this is an excellent list.

That could have been a link. Right.

It's really good.

And you have like the name, a little description.

And then because it's the Maps app, you can see in the map where it is.

And there was another one that I noticed here, which was like Michelin Guide, because you

know what places in New Orleans either have Michelin stars or on the Michelin recommended.

And so by definition, the Michelin recommendations are always, you know, maybe there are places

that don't make the list that are also just as good.

Yeah.

But they are.

But they're interesting.

I think there was another one that I saw that was like the Beignet Guide for New Orleans.

I think it was like, you know, the 12 best Beignets in New Orleans.

That's helpful.

I'm not exactly sure why you need 12 because in my mind, you know, cafe du monde and maybe a morning call, you'll need to write, right, right.

So I don't know that you need a guide for that one, but still it was sort of funny, you know, those are useful.

And so if you're in another city, I, Brett, you travel all the time.

I know that's a big part of your life is, you know, if you're trying, you know, here I am in, you know, random city, you know, here I am in Nashville, here I'm in Memphis.

Where should I go or where should I think about going if I have some free time?

Those guides are not bad at all.

They're really not bad.

I guess I've always, because I've looked at these every once in a while, because you got to scroll down pretty far, at least in the way.

I don't know if there's a way that you can rearrange these or anything.

But I guess I've always, A, thought that they were sort of human aggregated or there was somebody behind that.

And I could just be wishful in that.

Maybe it's all AI generated.

But I immediately tend to trust these a little bit more because my guides have the best new restaurants in 2026 from Bon Appetit.

That would be somewhere I would want to go.

The next one is American Stories in National Parks from the National Park Foundation.

But I think because it is a separate publication and I just felt like that there's been some kind of vetting or aggregation there.

Again, that could just be me being wishful.

But I seem to trust that a little bit more than I would if I saw an ad or a sponsored aspect there.

Maybe these are sponsored.

I don't know.

Yeah, I don't know.

But I agree.

Interesting stuff there.

Let's talk Apple Pay.

We love our Apple Wallet and I love using Apple Pay pretty much almost wherever I go now.

But there has been one significant holdout in accepting Apple Pay, and that is Walmart.

And today, this week, Walmart, Ed Hardy, Ed Cult of Mac said, Walmart finally caves accepting Apple Pay.

Thank goodness.

Now we can go to Wally World.

Yeah.

It used to be the two big, I think two of the biggest retailers that did not support Apple Pay were Home Depot and Walmart.

That's right.

Home Depot changed a few years ago.

They caved.

You know, Walmart way back when, you may recall the reason that they did not support Apple Pay,

it was a strategic reason for them is that they were trying to, you know,

they didn't like the fact that Apple Pay protects your privacy.

And so they wanted to have their own system.

It was called Current C, like, you know, currency, like current and the letter C.

And their idea was to have a bunch of other people work together with them.

It sort of fell flat.

But the idea is that, you know, it would gather all sorts of information about them.

And don't get you wrong.

You know, every retailer is going to get information about you one way or the other.

But it's nice to have at least a little bit more privacy that you get with Apple Pay.

And plus, but for me, it's just the convenience.

I mean, I'm sure that the number of people that go into a Walmart and then go to use their

iPhone or their Apple Watch to pay and they suddenly can't pay.

It's not like Walmart didn't take tap to pay because I think for a while now they've let

you tap your credit card.

So anyway, it's nice that it's now just about just about everywhere.

I remember years ago, the pharmacy CVS was not supporting Apple Pay.

Not that they couldn't.

In fact, sometimes the stores would make a mistake and accept it, but it was a policy decision.

But then that eventually changed too.

So it's, you know, Apple Pay is just so universally helpful.

I use my watch all the time to pay.

I mean, in fact, it's weird, Brett.

I was thinking about that the other day.

The number of times that I use cash, even, I mean, I always have cash in my wallet, but

like that has changed so much.

If I go back 10, 15 years, I paid for cash all the time.

Not that I didn't use a card, but for small things.

But nowadays, it's just faster.

I mean, put aside the privacy and everything else.

I just find the fastest way for pay for anything is to use my phone or my watch.

It's just so convenient.

And who wants to carry around like change and bills?

I don't even give it anymore.

Like I have maybe a little bit of cash that I will sometimes have in my briefcase because I don't even put it in my pocket anymore.

And I mean, I don't even really carry a wallet.

I carry like credit cards because I, you know, in my ID, that's pretty much all that I need

because that's what I'm so bought into that ecosystem.

But again, it's just, it's the convenience number one, but then number two, I know that

it's more secure.

Well, I hand over, I mean, I get, you know, cash is one thing obviously, but then it's,

it's gone.

But like, I don't want to hand over an actual physical credit card anymore.

If I don't, if I don't have to, it's like, I would rather do the tapping on there.

But I have said I've gotten caught sometimes when I don't have cash, just those rare circumstances, maybe for a tip or something along those lines.

But I, yeah, I barely even carry anything anymore.

So I'm just happy to see that more and more.

Acceptance are coming out with Apple Wallet.

And I guess I should say, I don't know if Walmart announced this, but did they talk about the Google?

I forget what the, it's like the Google Wallet.

I forget what they call it on that side on there.

I don't remember, but it wouldn't surprise me if they also support Android Pay and the Google Pay and Samsung Pay and the rest of them.

I don't know, but Apple Pay for sure.

They are now doing so.

Well, if you're looking for a fun app to try, I love this little link you put in today.

John Gruber talked about BitCam.

Now, he's talked about it.

Apparently, he said even 10 years ago, he talked about BitCam 1.0.

But now there is BitCam 2.0.

I don't know that I remember seeing this. If I did, I may have just smiled and laughed and then went on.

But I got to try this out now. This looks really cool.

It is a fun app. And I did, when it came out a decade ago, I purchased it. I say purchased it. It was a few bucks, right? It was almost nothing.

And so they just updated the 2.0 version this week with all sorts of new features. It's got a new ownership.

And I will tell you, it is a cute app. So I have it on my phone right here. And so I'll give you an example.

I just, while you were talking, I took a selfie of myself and I'm going to hold this up to the camera.

Can you see how it's got sort of like pixelated?

It's a pixelated.

I mean, this is the old, for those of us that used Macs in the 1980s and to a certain degree, the 1990s too, they would have, you know.

Oh yeah.

The Macs were black and white, but they could create these pixelated images.

It's not unlike if you ever look at the Wall Street Journal, you know, they have those.

That's what it makes me think of.

Yeah.

Exactly.

Those pictures there.

And they're sort of cute and nostalgic.

And sometimes just because it's pixelated, it actually can make a picture more interesting.

And although I say they're in black and white, you can also do them in color as well.

I like that.

So it's a fun little shtick.

But the reason the app is worth checking out, and there's a free version of the app too.

You can pay to get a little more features.

But you should check it out because the entire user interface uses icons, iconography that

totally looks like the original Mac.

And in fact, it gets even better because if you go into the edit feature on it, and John Gruber sort of alludes to this, but he doesn't mention it specifically, but he links to it.

If you go to the edit feature, it brings up something that sort of, if you can see in my camera, it sort of looks like an old Mac.

And you see at the very top left of a Mac, even an old Mac, what would you see up there?

You would see the Apple icon, right?

Yes.

The makers of this app don't want to ship something with an Apple icon because that would be like a tree point violation.

So what they did is they shipped something with just a circle icon.

However, however, there is a way that you can go into the settings of the app and you can use, you know how like way back in the days on Macs, you could use a program called ResEdit to actually change icons and stuff like that.

Oh, yes.

Turn individual bits on and off.

They give you a little editor to turn bits on and off.

What?

So if you want to, as I have done, if you want to turn off a couple of this parts of the circle, you can create the actual Apple icon.

Now, this is not the app developers doing it.

This is me, Jeff Richardson.

So Apple, do not sue us.

I just think it's cute.

So there's a lot of whimsy in this app and it's fun to play around with.

It's got features.

And again, you're not going to take the next great picture that you're going to submit to National Geographic using this app.

But it's just a little bit of whimsy and fun.

So I totally recommend you check it out, especially, especially if you used a Mac back in the 1980s.

But hey, even if you didn't, I mean, nowadays, the kids are using iPods, even though they weren't even alive when iPods were around.

No, I've seen these stories.

Even if you are one of our younger listeners, you know, you might want to take a look at this just to see how things way back when were.

But it's cute.

blast your devices 40 years in the past and capture life with crisp one bit pixels also with an eight

color mode for when you're feeling spicy that is beautiful i love it all right the last little

thing we'll end with um jeff both uh yours and my children are a little too old for something like

this today but you know what i'm thinking i'm starting to know that younger generation that

are starting to procreate as well and have some babies.

And boy, would this be kind of a nice gift.

I mean, first of all, I'm so jealous

because I wish I had the AutoCast cabin care

wireless CarPlay adapter when my kids were babies

so I could keep an eye on them

because I would have to turn my head,

twist it around to check on the kid

in the car seat and the back seat

while I'm supposed to be driving.

But now this AutoCast,

and there's a couple of others on here too, right?

There's a couple of the,

Basically, it's baby monitors that connect with your CarPlay in the car so you can keep watch over the kid in the backseat.

I think it's just brilliant.

I love this.

Yeah.

First of all, how useful that you can, like you say, just stare at your CarPlay screen and you can see what the kid's doing in the back.

Yeah.

I did not even know that this category of products existed.

I didn't either.

And the reason, you know, companies will often send me, just because I've had my website for a long time, companies will send me links to products and stuff like that and ask me if I want to review stuff.

And so I got a link from this company called L-A-M-T-T-O, Lampto, I guess, saying, do you want to review this product?

And again, I don't have any kids in my backseat, so there's no reason for me to say yes.

But it's a cute idea because it's a little camera that attaches to the back of your headrest.

And this one's actually got a little goofy face on it, so maybe your kid will look at the googly eyes and stuff like that.

But then, so that's the camera, and then it displays it on CarPlay.

But the thing that was curious to me from a technology standpoint is, how are they doing this?

and the way that they're doing it it's actually and again they're not the only company there's this

other one out there uh what's the other one called the autocast yeah autocast right the way that they

do it is you know how they're just there's a distinction between wired carplay right wire

wireless carplay right right certain most cards you know every car that has carplay has wired carplay

but some also have wireless the way that this technology works is they plug a little device

into your CarPlay.

So instead of plugging in your iPhone,

you plug in this device.

And so that device has the wired connection to CarPlay.

And then it creates a little wireless thing in your car

to connect to both your iPhone and this camera.

And so once this device gets both of those feeds,

like from your iPhone,

it's getting the CarPlay interface.

Right.

And it's telling the iPhone,

it's pretending like the actual device

is the CarPlay head unit instead of your cars.

And then it's getting the image,

the live video from the device.

And then it basically can put them together.

So it can be like picture in picture with one on top of the other, or it can, it can

tell, you know how CarPlay screens can be any size, right?

It can be really long or fresh.

And so it tells CarPlay, if you turn this mode on the side by side mode, it tells CarPlay,

I have a really narrow screen for half of your screen width.

And so then CarPlay just creates a CarPlay interface for a narrow screen.

And then on the other screen, they show the back.

And again, if you don't want to show CarPlay at all, you can also use this device to just have your entire screen just be looking at your kid in the back.

But I just think it's a very it's very clever the way that they do it.

It's a little finicky because this is obviously hacky to do it.

And when you look at the videos and how this works, you know, sometimes you need to unplug it and plug it in again to get it working.

And even the review on the on the on wired on wired.

I think they only gave it a six out of ten because of some little issues with it.

But I will tell you, like, I mean, if I was, if this was my, if I had kids sitting in car seats, I think I would be very curious about this.

They cost like what, a hundred, $150 in that range.

Yeah, right.

So just an interesting product.

And I wanted to announce it because a lot of people out there have young kids and I did not even know that this existed.

So it's fascinating.

Or even grandkids.

Okay.

So you're saying that then there's a cable that has to go from my CarPlay, like under the dashboard, and it has to go all the way to the back and plug into.

No, no, it doesn't.

Okay. Oh, it's a little head unit. Oh, here it is. She's got this picture here. It's what you're

talking about. Yeah. So that part plugs into your CarPlay. But as I understand correctly,

the cameras, I think, are battery power. Maybe I'm wrong about this. I don't think that they're

plugged in. They might have to plug in for power, but I don't think that they're plugging in.

Okay. I think it's just a power plug in. I don't know. I don't know all the specifics of it.

Again, this is a little hacky, but my understanding is that the signal,

the video signal is coming wirelessly. And one of the reviews that I said that because it's coming

wirelessly, like sometimes it might be a little stuttery, like, you know, how sometimes a zoom

call can be a little stuttery or something, right. But like, for the most part, it's more than good

enough for you to keep an eye on your kid and see what's going on back there. Jeff, I think you

should reply to lamb toe and say, yes, you are willing to review this. And, you know, just use

your your cat or something i mean put you know i want to see a review of this and iphone jd now i

mean i now i'm just even more curious than before you know just to see okay anyway that's a lot of

fun i'm glad curious yeah in the know in the know so i'm going to give credit to a gentleman i

started following him i think it is sean tech yeah sean on tech uh he's had he had a youtube uh little

short here and i thought these were two brilliant things so i'm gonna have you walk through this

with me okay i want you to get your iphone go into messages okay and go into like you're gonna

send me a message okay now the let's say that you want to send me a picture right or you want to

send a funny gif or something like that you would hit that little plus symbol that's down in the

bottom left corner so go ahead and do that hit the little plus symbol and now you've got a list

Now, your list might be a little bit different than mine.

Typically at the top of that list is like camera, right?

And then you have photos and then stickers and Apple Cash.

And depending on how many other widgets that you might have added or, you know, stickers and things like that, you've got a whole list there.

Now, for me, I only use maybe two or three of these, right?

And so I would like to have my most used options at the very top.

I didn't know this, but if you've got that, if you tap that little plus symbol and you've got the list, you're looking at the list.

you can tap and hold on an item and rearrange it did you know that you could do this yeah yeah so

so go through this i'm in the messages app so like i'm in my text messages with you and what do i tap

first i have the little plus symbol in the bottom left corner because that brings up that list

camera photos stickers etc okay yeah but let's say like i like that little hashtag images because it

allows me to you know send a funny gif so i wanted that higher up if you tap and hold you can

range the items in that list so that now I do have that images option. I have no idea. I know.

Isn't that great? So then because I hardly ever use like there's polls on here and Apple Cash and

send later, you know, there's the image playground. I mean, some of these are really interesting. And

again, depending on how many apps you have, you may have some like I've got ESPN, I've got Delta

in here. I don't ever really use any of that necessarily in the messages. I could, but I wanted

rearrange this so that I could get access to the top things that I wanted to send. And for me,

I like having images and camera and photos. And those are usually the three that I, that I sent.

So I just liked to, I didn't have a clue that you could rearrange those in that list. And that's

neat. So if there is one that you send, like maybe you do a lot of, you know, music, you send a lot

of music, or maybe you want the emoji up a little higher, right. Or the image playground or the

gen emoji. You could, you could move that up to the top of that list, which I just thought was

very cool okay so the second thing is real quick tap out of that so that it goes away

now i probably the number one thing that i do is i like to send photos i've taken a photo and i go

into messages and i want to send you a photo me too you could tap on the plus symbol and then tap

on the photos but if you tap and hold on the plus symbol just tap and hold that'll immediately get

you into your photos list right there oh you just sent me a photo your pixelated photo on there

does that make sense so in other words instead of me tapping the plus symbol tapping the photos list

if you tap and hold on that plus symbol it immediately jumps you into the photos and i

just like that as a shortcut it saves you one tap nothing else okay your first tip i did not know

about and that's interesting um and i'll have to think about that in fact it would be nice

to delete some things from i know i thought that too yeah i guess if they're if they're down near

the bottom and bottom i'm never going to touch them anyway you're just not going to see them

Right. But your second tip, the one that where you hold down the sign for a second to jump directly into photos.

I use that one all the time. Oh, you do. So you knew that.

I will say like perhaps the number one thing I use that plus sign for is sending photos.

Like, I mean, when I say number one, it's like ninety nine percent of the time.

That's what I want to do. Very rare that I want to send every once in a while.

I might send a sticker or something like that, but it's, you know, it's very rare.

So that holding down the plus sign is a great tip, because like you said, once you hold it down,

Not only it selects photos automatically and jumps you directly into your recent photos,

which is why I was able to just tap and send you the one that I just took on myself with

that BitCam app.

So now you can see what it looks like.

But I like it because I will do that a lot is I'll take a photo and then I'll be like,

oh, that's an interesting photo.

I want to share that with my wife, with my daughter or something like that.

And so I will hold down on the plus, tap it, send it.

And then, you know, you get a little delight in your day and you move on.

So I did not know that you could tap it up because I just always tap the plus symbol.

And then I would go into photos.

But this little short, I'll make sure that I include it in the show notes from Sean on

tech.

He's got some other brilliant little videos in here too.

But so I didn't steal it from him.

I'm giving him full credit on this because I just thought that that was brilliant.

And I just love the idea that you could rearrange that list in there too.

Very helpful.

My tip is something that I also did not know about, although hopefully some listeners did.

I recently, you know, I use the main two credit cards that I personally use are my Amex card.

And because I get Delta points on it and stuff like that.

But I also use an Apple credit card.

In fact, this time of year where I'm buying Apple products, like, you know, a brand new Mac Mini.

That was burning up this last night.

That was burning.

And that $9 for my policy clock.

When I buy an Apple product, I will always use the Apple card because you get instead of 1% or 2% cash back, you get 3% cash back.

And so when I think about it, that brand new, ludicrously expensive Mac mini that I purchased

last night is a little bit cheaper because I'm going to get 3% cash back.

And I guess the good news is, Brett, I spent so much money on that computer that I'm getting

a lot of cash back.

So if you want to use that logic.

But anyway, sometimes when you get like for my Amex card or for other types of credit cards,

you get your monthly statement.

Traditionally, you would get it in the mail, right?

And then nowadays, people might get them electronically.

But when I use my Apple credit card, the only way that I really knew of to look at my prior transactions was to use the wallet app and then tap on my credit card.

And then you sort of scroll down and you see your transactions.

And like when I do, like I use Quicken to sort of balance my checking account and stuff like that.

And I have an entry in the Quicken app for my Apple credit card because I keep track of it there.

And I don't think there's a way to automatically import.

If there is, I don't do it because I don't have a lot of spending.

But I put them in Quicken.

But my point is that when I look at my transactions, what I traditionally do is just look at them in the wallet app.

And that totally is fine.

And it's nice because you can tap on it and you can see how much cash back you got and all that sort of stuff.

But what I did not know is that if you want to create like a traditional monthly statement from your Apple card, you can actually do that.

And the way that you do it is you start in that same wallet app on your iPhone or I guess iPad too.

But near the very top, you'll see something that says card balance, which tells me how much money I currently have on it.

And if I tap on card balance, I can see all sorts of information like what my balance is, what my credit limit is, my available credit.

But then near the bottom, you can either export transactions.

I guess this would be a way to actually get it into another program if I wanted to.

Or I can see my monthly statement.

So, for example, at the very top, because we're now in the month of August, the very one at the top for me is July 2026.

And if I tap on that July, 2026, there is an option on that thing that says download PDF statement.

And when you do that, it generates something.

It's, it looks like a traditional credit card statement.

That's in a nicely formatted PDF format.

It's the same thing that you've been getting for years, like in the mail or something like that.

And then you can use this to, I mean, it's just a PDF file, right?

So you can export it, you can print it, you can do whatever you want.

And I was looking for this earlier this week because sometimes I will spend money on something and I will need to get reimbursement from my firm because it's like a business expense.

And often when I do that, I'll actually get in the mail and in my email like a receipt and stuff like that.

But the other day I paid for – I filed something electronically at a court.

And for whatever reason, the court never sent me like a receipt for it.

I have no idea.

I have like a proof of filing, but I didn't actually get like here's much money it was.

And so I was submitting a reimbursement to my firm and I didn't have anything that had the number on it.

And I'm like, well, you know, I guess what I could, and I used my Apple card because the court didn't take Amex.

And so I used my Apple card for it.

And I'm like, how am I going to, like, where's my statement?

What am I going to show the people in the finance of my firm that I paid for it?

And like, I thought I could just open up the app and take a screenshot, but that didn't seem very official.

And I'm like, oh, I know what I'll do.

I'll just create this.

So I downloaded the statement and then I just redacted.

I put some black bars over the rest of it, but that way they could see on the statement,

you know, here was this appellate court in Louisiana.

You can see that on this date, I spent this much money and I gave them that and I gave

them my proof of filing and stuff.

And hopefully I'll get reimbursed for it.

If not, you know, let me know.

I'll find out, you know, but, but again, there's all sorts of reasons and maybe you just want

it for historical reasons.

You just want to save your PDFs every month, you know, cause in fact, now that I'm saying

this out loud, Brett, that might not be a bad idea.

I could just save all those PDFs sometimes just to have them.

Yeah.

It seems like something you might want to have in the future to be able to look at it.

It's not like it's taking up any physical space.

So it's a cool feature.

I mean, it makes sense that this exists, but I did not know that it exists.

And let's put a link in the show notes to that link that I sent you, which is a page

on the Apple website that it tells you exactly how to do what I just described.

So you don't have to remember all the button presses.

And it has all sorts of things.

You can export it.

You can download it.

You can print it, you know, and stuff like that.

So it's good if you use an Apple Card credit card.

And by the way, you should, even if you only use it for Apple products, because you get the 3% back, you might as well get, if you're going to spend $1,000 on an Apple product, you might as well get 3% of that back.

So anyway, that's my tip.

First of all, I would say, unlike most other credit cards like the Chase or American Express, you could always go to a website, like online, right, on your computer, and you can download statements that way.

But since the beginning, the Apple credit card has never been that way.

And typically, the only way that you interact with it is going through the app.

I mean, you can go to card.apple.com, but I don't, I think it's less functional than what even in the app.

So first of all, I would just say that, and that has, because I've gone through this exact frustrations sometimes, Jeff, and I'm glad that you're bringing this up because in the past, well, we'll do this when I'm doing my taxes at the end of the year.

And I hated the fact that I had to go in and I would have to like export each individual month out by PDF.

So I was just going to say to piggyback on what you're saying, that first screen that you go to that you were explaining where you had the whole list there, there is statements there and it says exports, export transactions.

And when you do this now, you can go in and you can dictate the start date and the end date.

So now I should be able to do an entire year's worth of exporting transactions.

And I wanted to highlight that for you too, because most of the time I will do the basic file format, which is a comma separated value, a CSV.

But if you tap that down there, Jeff, I was going to let you know that there is the Quicken or the QuickBooks options on there.

So that QBO.

So the next time you're doing that, go into that.

And I think at the bottom of each month as well, you could either select a PDF statement, and then you probably saw that too.

You could do an export, and you could do like a QBO or QFX, so that theoretically that should be able to – you should be able to import that into your QuickBooks aspect on there as well.

But I'm glad they're given those options.

I might try that one day.

They're given those options now, which is nice.

And in fact, I'm sure they've done the Quicken and QuickBooks export for a while.

But I will say that I do remember when the Apple Card originally came out, which is a long time ago now, they did not have a lot of those options.

Those are things that they added over time.

That's what I'm saying.

Right.

Yeah.

And that's the thing.

That's why I wanted to point that out, because I do remember in the past several years at the time of our taxes, I had to go into each month and download that and export that out.

And so I don't know when they put in that date range.

And I assume you can at least do a year at a time.

I don't know.

Sometimes they may limit you on what they can do.

But anyway, just some good options there to be able to export that out.

Because again, unlike traditional credit cards, I can't go to a website as easy and say, you know, send those statements.

And I don't even know if they ever sent out anything paper.

I think from the very beginning, they were sort of that paperless aspect on there.

And so having that app and being able to understand how to utilize and get access into it is very powerful on there.

We have one more week to talk about September 9th before it happens.
